Nitrogen def or too much light?

I am trying to identify what is the problem. They are under the 600 w HPS from two days and yesterday i move the lamp 1 feet away. The lamp now is two feet away. I fed them today with half strength veg nutes pH 6.3. Curious thing is that i measure the runoff water and is 7.5-8 pH?! I always use pHed water. Temps are 24-25 C day and 20-21 C night, RH 50-60 %. Any ideas?

Universal soil mix (N 200-500 mg/L, P205 200-500 mg/L, K20 300-600 mg/L I don't know if it means much to you because it doesn't to me) :-|
The first day i move them under the HPS I didn't have any problem and then when i decide to move the light closer - whoa. Before this they were under compact fluorescent. Still thinking that it is from the lights but actually i don't know is that possible. Some of the leaves are twisted like if they were trying to hide. I move the lamp about 60 centimeters (2 feet) away and gave them half strength veg nutes( they were suppose to be fed yesterday). The environment is stable. Nitrogen def is supposed to be shown first on the lower leaves and not the new growth right?

your right I dont know shit about soil but I do know your ph is to high. yeh you wanna keep the light away from the plant its still small and sensitive, so prone to shock

Is the pH of the soil same like the runoff? I dont have soil pH tester to measure. Kind of make me thinking if the pH of the soil is 7.5-8 how this could happen because its fresh soil ( the label claim that the pH is between 5.5 and 6.9) and i always use pHed water. The nutrients were the same pH - 6.3. So i can't explane to myself how the pH can climb that much :wall: Can be Iron def?
I raise the lights 2 feet (60 cm) and i will wait for another day or two to see if its going worst and if its i will flush with pH 6
Thanks for the reply i rely very much on information form more experienced growers :leaf:

Definitely not a nitrogen deficiency, if it were the tips would start to suffer moving inward toward the stalk unlike your picks. Nitrogen gets locked out at low ph 4.0-5.5

So i would say it's a light problem.

Everything start when i move the lights feet away. The soil should have enough nutrients and i already gave them diluted nutes. I am stupid to move the light so close till they are fragile. Greedy i didn't want them to stretch much :wall: Now i raise it about 2 feet and will wait day or two to see is it going worst.
