Nirvana: Northern Lights/Swiss Cheese/AK-48

About to purchase 2 of the 3 strains from Nirvana.

Decided to go back to the basics and work with some fast flowering strains.

Still looking for a good yielder.

Personal preferences or experiences with their yield and flower time on these or other fast flowering strains with good yields?

Their northern lights is good. It stays short, is nearly impossible to kill, good yields, is not nute sensitive, doesn't smell a thing like cannabis while growing either. Mine smelled like cedar and some type of random weeds. Fast flowering as well. Good to chill with.

Would lmao for about an hour until my face hurt, then I'd eat about 3 double whoppers, or anything else that resembled food and then crash. Defiately not something you want to smoke if you plan on partying for the night.

I have grown many Nirvana strains.
However, I grew them all in the early
years of this century.
I cannot vouch for the quality of currently available seeds.
But...
My favorite Nirvana strains were:

Northern Lights
Substantial variations of phenos.
There was a lanky, spindly version that appeared quite sativa like??
The best plants were the short squat Xmas tree type. Vigorous and easy to grow. It produced yummy nuggets of aromatic goodness. One of my favorite iterations of the esteemed NL line.

ICE
Also easy to grow and more stable than their NL. My best provided buds that reeked of old time Cox model airplane fuel.
The cured flowers can be wickedly potent.
Actually too powerful for some of my smoking chums.

Papaya
A mostly indica strain which I throughly enjoyed. Robust and vigorous trouble free plant. Fairly stable.

NLxHaze
I really liked Nirvana's take on this strain. Reasonably stable genetics.
My preferred pheno was more sativa, taller with slender leaves.
Peppery, spicy buds with a pronounced Hazey flavor.
Did well indoors and out.
But it takes longer to finish well than the above strains- 10 to 11 weeks.
They all provide a good yield though.


Conversely, I did not care for Nirvana's AK-48.
Serious Seeds AK-47 was far superior to Nirvana's weak sister.

I'm growing 2 Nirvana strains now, grew 2 others last cycle. I'm trying several strains in an effort to find a couple of moms to use as perpetual clone machines.

I popped 4 Wonder Woman seeds. Got 2 males and 2 hermies.

The Nirvana Northern Lights I got must have been a bad pheno. Mine was long, spindly, and the buds never got bulky. They never got bigger around than a pencil. There were lots of bud sights covered in crystals but they were so shaky I decided to just turn the whole plant into canna butter for edibles rather than trying to trim 1,000 tiny spindly buds. Mind you the cookies I made from it are so strong that even people with lots of experience with edibles can only handle 1/4 of a cookie. Hopefully if you order them you'll get a better pheno.

I popped 4 Nirvana White Rhino's. 1 male, 3 females. Of the females, 1 produced some "OK" buds, one got bushy and produced very little so I got pissed and whacked it halfway through this cycle to make room for its sister, and the remaining girl has gotten bushy with some huge buds. Oddly enough, at 6.5 weeks into flowering, the buds seem to be all pistils and no calyxes. It doesn't have much in the way of crystals. I've grown quite a bit of White Rhino over the years and know that it's capable of way more than what I'm getting now in terms of quality.

I've grown 4 Nirvana Ice. One is in my current grow and I couldn't be happier with her. She's happy and healthy, resinous and pleasantly smelly! The last cycle I had one female and it was dynamite! As Wavels said, it's a real knockout. We smoke a bowl of that when it's bedtime and pass out in blissful amnesia. Great as a pain killer. The calyxes on this one are now starting to swell and fill out the buds. I have at least 4 colas on her that I'm guessing will be the size of my hand when harvested. And I don't have small hands!! I'd definitely order this one if I were you.
