Nightmare Nugs?

I've recently had a rather horrible experience in my life, and now all I can see when I dream is that experience, a variation of it, or all the people involved doing something that consistutes a nightmare. I wake up during the night or the morning, from sweat literally running down my body, or from screaming in my sleep. I'm fucking sick of this, as its been going on for a few months now, and it has affected my life greatly. I either don't sleep, or can't stay asleep, so I can't do shit during the day. Even going to work or school, I find myself in a "duhhhhhhh" like state when I am trying to solve even the simplest of problems. All I do is lie around, because I'm too tired to do anything, but I don't want to sleep.

This above paragraph is a perfect example of what I mean, as it makes little sense.

Does anyone know of any strains that will help me stay asleep though the night, by shutting off that projector in my head? I don't really want to start on medication or anything. Also, I don't even know if there is a medication that would help me, besides maybe Ritalin lol.

Man that sounds like PTSD. I don't know of a strain that will help you shut off the dreams, finding someone who you can talk with about your experience might though. I'm not a doctor and I have very little faith in psychiatry (with good reason) but that's what helped me. A little bud for waking hours certainly didn't hurt me. My experience was in the early 1980's and I still have an occasional nightmare but it's mostly when I'm really stressed about something else.

How about the potpourri version of what went down that affected you. It's just a phase prostheticN.

There are good strains that will put you out pretty damn hard if grown correctly .....I'm just not sure if they'll stop your dreams or not ....I think your best bet would be to go to your doctor and just let them know what your experiencing and go from there .....I'm sure you could get the help you need to .....either way GL with your situation ..

OGK left to flower on the longer side will lock you up pretty good for sleep ...so will GDP done the same way IMO ....GL

My dream awareness shuts off almost entirely with ANY strain, honestly. It's just about staying stoned enough in my finding... as soon as I pass the constant daily use threshold my dreams disappear almost over night.

Lay off coffee, if you use it, get exercise, eat some starchy food and some whey protein before bed. They both make you dopey as fuck. Also if you wake up in the middle of the night also eat some starchy food and possibly some protein, but at least a piece of bread. Your brain will make you wake up when your blood sugar gets low, so you gotta eat something. Weed will put you out but you won't be well rested because it's not normal sleep.

Also, and this may be your main problem, blue light will make you be wakeful. You gotta make sure there's no light at night. When you take a whizz don't put that light on, unless it's red. Red light is fine, blue or white is bad, because white has a lot of blue in it. Even a computer screen is bad, I always where orangey sunglasses when using the computer. Light ones of course. LED screens are ridiculously bright. I actually don't know how people sit in front of them for hours without burning their eyes out.

If you have anxiety/depression I suggest about 0.5 ml of caropyophyllene, a CB2 full agonist. It may also help with sleep, idk. Cannabis is only a partial agonist so may not be strong enough.

I coincidentally found something that may help with insomnia. It's simple gelatin, or the amino acid glycine which it mostly consists of. It also has many other benefits. BTW, word to the wise, there's a related compound called trimethylglycine which also has some interesting health benefits due to the methyl groups, which the body uses to detoxify other compounds through methylation. It may actually metabolize to glycine, in which case two birds one stone.

Helps Improve Sleep Quality
Certain studies have shown that gelatin helps people who continuously experience trouble falling asleep, can’t sleep or who have general unsatisfactory sleep if they take three grams before bedtime. Researchers investigated the effects of gelatin on subjective sleep quality and found that it improved daytime sleepiness, daytime cognitive functions, sleep quality and sleep efficacy (sleep time/in-bed time), plus it shortened the time it took to fall asleep and improved slow-wave sleep without changes in the normal/healthy sleep architecture.

Glycine also seems to improve sleep in a different way than traditional sleep medications or hypnotic drugs, which normally means less drowsiness and side effects the following day are experienced.

I suffer from night terrors that are ptsd related, it can be 50 degrees in the room and i wake up soaked in sweat. A heavy indica is what works for me. Haven't remembered a dream in about 3 yrs now.

Jedi og has helped me with nightmares. I used to have frequent nightmares about wolfman-like creatures sexually assaulting me in the forest. The Jedi og has stopped these for the most part.

Word of advice ..... DO NOT get cheap and buy spice / K2 / or any variant there of .
( smoking that shit NO BUENO .... You will see spiders everywhere)

As mentioned above -- heavy indica
GDP
CANNATONIC
BUBBA KUSH

I think if you able to hit up a dispensary, you could have a budtender guide to anti anxiety type strains or even insomnia strains. There are tons of good strains , but you need a more CBD cut than a high THC one.
