Hey folks i never expected my plant to take off been vegging 9-10 weeks shes been out in the glorious uk sunshine everyday n on the night shes under a couple of cfl bulbs in a small box that i had. I need to flip her into flowering but have no set up as i said i didnt expect her to take off. So if anyone has any ideas i could use for the 12 hr dark period and it is only 1 plant, would b much appteciated and would like to hear any comments on my plant of what people think. Its 18 inch tall and am on 9 finger fan leaves at the mo. Peace
Johnny

She will flower outside under natural light too. 12/12 is an indoor thing. Plants are starting to flower now outside here in NW Florida. I'm sure you wouldn't be far behind. Just stop bringing them in at night, and they will flower.

Yeah, you're like two to four weeks from natural flower, just leave her.
Edit: you might want to wean her off the 24 hr light before you leave her out at night.

Hi Larry
im sure your weather in florida is different from the uk lol but i always thought mjs needed total 12/12 to start budding. So what difference would it make from keeping out doors to bringing them in on th nite
thanx for the advice man

It's less about the weather and more about the latitude. Cannabis doesn't specifically need 12/12 to flower, it starts around 15/9.
I was only talking about weaning her down because it's possible the sudden light change could slow her growth down. But if you don't want to leave her out at night, just put her in a dark room overnight instead of giving her light.
Why would you need to take down a gazebo for bad weather?

Hi Larry u said about flowering on 15/9 is that outdoors? as ive never heard of this but never done an outside grow so maybe thats why. Yeah i may cut the dalight hours a little and dont want her getting to much taller lol were getting a lot of overcast days but still really warm Do u think she would b ok in them conditions (not much sunlight) my gazebo is just a 3m pop up gazebo so if it gets to windy it has to come down as our last one got wrecked 2 weeks ago so bought another one lol
aCheers for the replies Alan

I'm outdoors. Plants trigger to flower by the length of the dark period. It will vary by strain, but they start to flower long before Fall Equinox {12-12} Most of mine are already flowering, or getting ready to. My Length of Day is 13 hours 55 minutes.

By bringing them in and putting them under lights at night, you will keep them in veg. You can look up your length of day using this site. Just input a town near you. It looks like it will be August 28th before you get down to 14 hours. Most all strains will be flowering by then.

You could do a kind of light dep by bringing them in after 12-14 hours of sunshine, and keeping them in the dark. That will make them flower as long as you keep it up.

Yep, I'm outdoors. They say plants can "see" sunlight even if it isn't shining right on them. If you are wanting to use the gazebo as a sort of light dep, you will need to wrap it up somehow. But as far as the weather, until you are flowering, they can take just about anything.
