NFT System - Question about Roots

Hi I transferred my plants into NFT last night. Looking at pictures online it would seem I may have dones this slightly prematurely. As I don't want to drown my roots I've put the pump on a timer for 30 mins on and then 7.5hrs off. Will this work to not drown them? I'm just being cautious but some help here would be great!

Thanks in advance.

Maybe should have said that there are large clusters of roots sticking out the bottom of large rockwool cube but they aren't entirely rootbound

Put them on your NFT table and turn on the pump for a constant flow and watch your plants, if they have enough legs then they will establish themselves and get on with it. What i do for the first few days is instead of a constant flow i put the pump on timed intervals, if they havent enough roots at the begining the constant flow might be too much and they go limp so timed intervals for the first few days sorts this till they put down some roots. Dont have your intervals at too big a gap, 7.5hrs is too long between feeds, i'd go for on for 10 min on and off for an hr or something like taht and see how you go. NFT is constant flow so the sooner your girls take to this the better, im trying out 6" rockwool cubes for my next NFT grow as theres gonna be much better root growth and they should take straight away.

Hi Jimmy, thanks man appreciate the response. That's exactly what i'll do. I take it your on NFT? Any other valuable tips you might have? Really appreciate you coming back to me

I use NFT and Drip. I'll use a constant drip, except dark periods, until some roots get going out the bottom, then constant flow by. Once seated don't move anything, flow, pot etc. She don't like her feet played with.

Yeah mate i have run NFT, It was all i did for a decade or so then i had to switch systems as i couldnt grow in the spare room and my tables wouldnt fit in the new space. Ive been in DWC and now coco for the last 3 years or so but after this current grow im doing is done im back in NFT as i have the space to run it now and i cant wait, ive cuts taken so im ready to rock lol. One thing i do is put another pump in the res and floom it, keeps the nutes nicely mixed when you top up the res and adds a bit of oxygen to the mix as well, its not needed i suppose and but i like to do it. Just keep the light off the roots, watch the res temp and you should be good to go mate. As the other poster has said once in they cant be moved, you running beans or cuts mate?

Haha thanks guys, You answered a question I was going to ask! Some of my plants have got a bit of a lean on them and I was thinking I probably couldn't rotate and obviously then I can't Any tips to combat that at all?. Thanks for the rest of the advice I'll keep it all in mind. My get a pump for the tanks if you think that helps. I'm using seeds. Don't have the space to start a mother.
