Had a big scare yesterday, after reading more info i decide to lower the light to 12/13 inch away from top of highest plant,, then changed water added bloom nutes at 1/3rd strength as they appear to have started flowering closed the box went away and luckily went back to check 45 mins later and all the plants looked STONED they were wilting really baddly as you can imagine i was horrified all the main colas and side branches were lent right over centimetres from grow base.:wall:...so so so gutted i lfted the light back up to its original height but whilst wallowing in my grief the plants started to pick back up... i could not believe my eyes, it seemed that the cold air now entering the box <box is as air tight as i could make it> and the light being lifted really took the stress out of the plants, Coming to a summary that it was JUST TO DARN HOT in there for them!!!!!
Since the light being repositioned and the bloom nutes added and a good nights sleep< for me and the ladys> they are looking healthy all bah few leave burns were i guess they were sweating losing moisture and drying out???,, but fingers crossed they are going to be fine...:weed:
This journal is now up to date and heres a few pics from todays first flowering...... Advice welcome x

From the looks of your plants you have a heat issue. Do you have ventilation to remove the heat?

Sup dirtfree.... Heat has been a major worry for me through this grow, i have replaced my two standard shitty fans with a large tower oscilating fan, leaving it on constantly??? through the night also??? And as for ventilation i bought a bog standard extracor from local hardware store,, i made the box airtight as i could then drilled 10 holes in the side for extractor to draw cold air in from , dimensions of box are roughly 5 feet long, two feet deep and 4 feet high... the extractor is fitted into the sink waste pipe going straight into sewers to eliminate odurs!!!
Recently i have place thermometer in box at top of plant height and as i open it its reading 29 degrees is this to hot?????
Again advice more than welcome,, what knowledge i have is passed on by a good friend and we are both very new to this!!
Thanks.

Sorry man, I live in the states.....I haave no idea what 29degrees C converts to. Mind telling me in F.
Where do you extract the heat from, the top I hope. Second if you are venting into a water pipe vent, it may be restricting the flow quite a bit. Can you exaust the heat into your attic or under your house? Somewhere out of your grow space

yes mate..... it converts to roughly 84??? and the extractor is placed at the top of the box,,,Yeah probably didnt explain venting well enough ,, it actually vents into the large main pipe that the smaller sink wastes run into idea being pipe should only hold water when sink is in use.....Was the best i could do at the time, and has really helped odur issues??? does this sound bout right??? Actuall grow space is in my garage and kitchen pipes run in there seemed the best option????
Am also a little worried with how cold they are getting in the night<when lights out> with the garage itself not being insulated it gets a little cold in there???
Thanks for intrest,,, and more advice???

If it is getting cold in there at night after lights go out, you have to watch your humidity. If it gets colg quickly you could create dew. Like when you take a drink out of the fridge. humidity spikes can stress your plants! Go get a lil termostaticly controled heater. Keep your babys nice and warm all the time.

84 isnt too hot, but anymore than that could be too much. my room is getting into the high 80's because it isnt quite cold enough outside and not warm enough to have the ac on. I turn the fan function on my central ac on a couple times a day so it doesnt get too stuffy in there.

Is your ballast in the grow room with them?

Right im on the heater,,,il have it set on timer to cum on at night when lights out,, nice one for advice,, props and + rep!!

The ballast is outside the box,, do you think by bringing it in it could keep the room warmer at night??? Saving on a heater?

no they are made to disapate heat quickly. I dont think it would stay warm for long.
I bought my heater for less than 20 dollars.

20 dollars to get a couple 0zs of great weed=worth the investment.

I read about a guy that used the exaust from his lights to help heat his house in the winter....just a side thought.

yes mate got a little ph test kit and have got it sitting at bout 5/6, was reading high at above seven so bought sum ph down and added it to it,, also the nutes bought levels right down.......I read that the ak48 like it around that level??? just a little below normal but again growers advice is very welcome and first hand experience even more so
you think i could get one small enough to fit in there as already getting cosy ???? will check shops tmw for smallest heater i can find,,, Quick question for you i know its such a common asked question and im trying my hardest not to ask to frequently but given the light<400 hps> temp and strain im hoping to yield inbetween 1 to 2 oz per plant, do you know anyone who has had experience with these or have you yourself grown them???
