newly planted seeds

so i just planted my 2 germinated seeds in separate 12oz plastic cups....how much light (cfls) for each cup?? also how far away? how long should they start to break through?
any other suggestions?

24 watt cfl on each would be fine until they are 6 inches tall then its time to transplant to big pots. Keep light about 2 inches away. Might take 3 or 4 days or even longer, if nothing shows after 2 weeks its dead. don't over water. No nutrients at all for the first month.

More than enough light for 2 seedlings just make sure distance and heat are good. HPS from top and cfl's to the sides as supplemental lighting. You'll be good man.

seeds do not need light to germinate, they need to be in the dark, then once they sprout the first two leaves then put them under light

depending on the heat that your hps is giving i would say no, feel with your hand how much heat is being given off and adjust to that, hope that helps, i'm an outdoor grower but i start indoors so i know a little about starting them off under lamps

depends on how much space you have, when they are flowering they won't grow much taller but that depends on the strain
