Newbie with H202 Peroxide 3% will it kill or help?

If I use 1 tbsp per gal of 3% Rite Aid peroxide will it really kill my plants or will it help. Im sorta fighting a small algae prob. and need a bit of guidance.
 
if you have algae then yes use it. you dont need a lot but i like to use it. it sterilizes the water if i'm not mistaken. however, be careful w/ it. use it sparingly.
 
it hads the extra O molecule that attaches to the roots, more oxygen on the roots the better when in the medium. too much will kill a plant though, be careful
 
It won't hurt it in any case. If you have a reason to use it, use it. If you don't have a reason to use it, many use it anyway.
 
Thanks for the info guys I have read multiple likes and dislikes. I decided to go ahead and use it at 1 tbsp per gallon. The plants seem to be doing fine and PH is still good 5.7-6.2 range since this morning. I change out the rez every two weeks, but things accumulate within those two weeks that I don't want messing with roots. Peroxide sounds to be a good solution for this. Anyone know how frequently this should be done to the rez?

One tablespoon per gallon would be daily.

Here is Ozgrowa's H2O2 formula:

Metric
10*L/C= Ml per day

C= % concentration of H2O2
L= Number of liters in reservoir
G= Number of Gallons in reservoir

Example: How much 3% H202 should I add to 7 gallons of nutes?
1.28*7/3=2.986 Oz's each day.

Damn that's almost 3 Ounces of Peroxide a day? Dose it need that much to be effective at all?
 
I use 6 tablespoons for 6 gallons of water, and I rough that out to a 1/3 cup measuring cup. So a cup lasts 3 days and a quart lasts 12 days. I get it for 98 cents a quart.

Thanx for the formula guys this is a great thread as I am fighting some root issues myslef.
 
I tried this as well...I am on day 2 of using it and my plants are looking really good..they seem to be very happy..my roots are growing quicker and looking healthy
