And other times, a caregiver is smart enough to have a few patience who are able to pay top dollar for top quality meds, allowing the less fortunate to receive the trickle down. Do you understand how that works?

Here I can simplify it.. Grow many different strains, find savvy patience who love rare dank herbs, and aren't to cheap to pay for the effort that goes into it.
Get three of those guys.
Then you go out and find a patient or two who is of good character and adds some sort of value to their community and those around them, but has little /to no money or means of financial support. And Give to them.
That's how this shit works people. If you don't understand now, then you won't.
It's not how many people you can touch, it's the quality in that caress that counts.
I can donate to a patient who can't pay. They don't need to take up one of my patient slots.

Patient slots are for people I sell to.

But I don't charge anyone top dollar. I like to give my patients a good deal.

Haha. One of my family memeber got one of those big red "that was easy" buttons for a Christmas gift. It says "Bullshit" instead, and a couple other smart ass remarks. I need one for work!

Not a vet, sorry buzz bud. I just wanted to bump this, as(with assistance) I've made it through harvest #1 and #2 is going into flower this weekend! OK, I think I'm beginning to get it.

I've got my single 600w(x2) system and 8 x T5's for babies and clones. I grow 'em tall and got nearly 2-3 zips per plant. More than happy with quality. No mold, no bugs, just my dog will eat anything I don't put in a jar or grinder.

Thanks again for all the replies and help! Thanks tet!

Thanks Gents!

CFL bulbs or tube-type? What do you suggest for wattage? Also, how many lights per-plant do you think I'd need?

Space is definitely not a problem for me. I also have access to plywood, nails... to construct a small growing area.

I visited a local dispensary today. Wow, that's not cheap! I spoke to a friend that is also a patient who claims he has had a caretaker for nearly two years and hasn't paid a penny(this guy makes more money than I do). Does this sound real? From what I've gathered, caretakers do charge patients for meds, but not the exorbitant amount a dispensary does.

I would like to explore using a caretaker, as well as attempting to learn to be a better horticulturist(or one at all, as far as that goes).

I, again, appreciate any guidance and assistance. I also welcome any comments that could educate me.

Thank you
Your biggest problem will be paying the electricity bill.In maine 600 watt light can cost you $150 a month in just cmp bills. So your looking over $200 if you add in your typicall power bill to it. Keep this in mind. Be smart, dont steal power.

For a really tight budget get some CFls for veg and flower 6500k for veg and 2700 around 55 watt spiral ones for flower as far as nutes do soil in cheap miracle grow with a little perlite and in flower use a banana peel tea 4 banana peels boil in 4 cups of water with one table spoon black strap molasses every other week and add worm casting to your teas too yield won't be too great but shouldn't cost much and will get you started we will help you out as it goes
Not a fan of miracle grow. There is a soil in maine called "coast of maine".Its all organic and cheap. I dont trust mircale grow.Look into it about why.

How about LED lights? Anyone use these? I see them relatively cheap on Ebay.

Also, this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hydrofarm-JSV2-2-Foot-Jump-Start-T5-Grow-Light-System-Easy-Assembly-Plant-Flower-/231074673146?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item35cd1fb1fa

Heck, I could essentially use a bedroom closet with something like this.

good leds lights are NOT CHEAP. Just a tip.

I have HO BlackStar led that works pretty good. Its about 196 watts and i think the cost was close to 250 or 300.

It does work great for veg.

Its also great for succulents and carnivirous plants, or any plants that color up really well.

Thanks for the response, corners!

Actually, my electric bill has gone from around $80 to $178 was the highest(I had the 8x4'-T5s, 600W MH, 600W HPS and a bucket cloner and fans all going at once) and second was $156(with the two HID lights only) , so it really isn't too bad! Not as bad as I imagined, for sure. I'm not following you about the "Be smart, don't steal power" part. Could you be more specific? If you're implying I'm stealing anything, that is not true. Thanks again!

I do have a question: Can someone suggest a entry-level vaporizer? Preferably under $100.
