Newbie Question

after my seeds germinated I placed them in a hydro hut under a 600watt mh about 14inches from the light. some of them have grown about 2-3inches when should I transplant the plugs to regular flower pot? thanks for your help!

What kind of plugs??? Any pics, or at least an online link to see what we're dealing w/ would be helpful.

Those tiny lil plugs in the pic. Are those what your seeds are in now? If so transplant ASAP.

If you're using soil it would be ok to start them in a small cup. A lot of ppl use 16 oz. cups.

ya and they are growing quickly its only been 3 days. when I transplant do I need to mix my soil with perlite at this point? I'm using foxfarm organic potting soil when its time.

Depends really, does it already contain perlite? I always like to add perlite, but I've never used Fox Farm. I like about 25-30% perlite. I also always add Garden Lime, it keeps PH in check. That's just my mix tho, this is one of those touchy subjects that every grower needs to find for themselves. There are a ton of other positive things that you could throw in, but I'm not sure if you'd need any in Fox Farm, supposedly that stuff kicks ass.

Fox Farms is the shit..a little pricey..but definately good for newbies..just follow the feeding schedule. Gradually work your way up to full strenght..dont want to over do it. Transplant when the roots are sticking out of the plug and the plant looks nice and strong.

thanks for the advice. typically how long does it take for the root to grow stronger? its only been 3-4 days since germinated seeds were planted.
