newbie plant yellowing?

hey guys,

here i am 4 weeks into my first grow, just a couple babies planted 17 October having Germinated within 36 hours. one of them has started to yellow to the top of the plant - on the new leaves that are developing. not sure if its heat stress or time to start on the nutes? or even lack of air!?

the plant was just an inch away from the light for the past week since i transplanted into the big pots - i have now dropped it to 3 inches. problem? dunno. the temp in the box is just over 80, under the lights its closer to 90 i think. the lights for now are 2 x 55w cfl

i will make some air in/out takes later this week when i can get my hands on a jigsaw, as ther are currently none :( oops.

the soil is gold label special mix, the nutes i have are Canna Terra upto flowering. am yet to start the nutes, they have been in this new soil since last saturday and figured the soil would have quite a bit of food in there to keep them going for a couple weeks? (easy on the nutes my philosophy, at least this the first time).

the last pic is the other plant that looks happier atm - though you will notice some yellowing on the bottom two leaves, they also have a few little brown spots around the edges, nothing that overly worried me... they occured before i repotted to the large pots with better soil, and this problem hasn't developed and has stayed to the couple lower leaves it originally affected.

sorry about the low quality of the pics, have bought 2 digital cameras in the last 3 years and both have been stolen, figured the mobile will have to suffice til i can afford THAT habit.

any help really appreciated, iv become very attached to these plants for some reason, not even sure if im going to be able to cut em up to make smoke in the end. pretty mean IMO. hope that all changes when i decide to flower em :hump:

props on the forum - internet being put to some good use HERE at least!

peace :)

nice set up. +rep for you. the question is are there nutes in the soil and if so what are the NPK ratios on the label? they look very good for their age.

they look healthy for the most part as for the yellowing i would say its cause you havent used any nutes, and you are right about the not too much fert but a little does help keep your ladies green so use a water soluble 20-20-20 fert once or twice a week

thanks guys...

i was going to water today, i havent waterd them since i repotted saturday, so i will start the Nutes today too. the NPK of the Nutes is 3 - 1 - 4 :-| which bein a newbie i have no idea what thats supposed to represent so off to the library.

the Nutes themselves have confused me in so much as how much im meant to add to the water - it seems like f-all, has anyone here used Canna Terra Vega? it says add 50ml every 10 litres - but for watering im only gonna get like a litre into them coz i wont wanna encourage the rot! this means i need 5ml, representing 2.5ml of fert per plant? just doesnt seem much. i'd hate to over do them tho.

wouldv done a journal but the camera i have on me phone is balls.. will keep an update every so often on here coz im sure to run into some more probs soon. Props y'all

I don't know about that particular nute but my best advice is start as slow as possible. I use an eyedropper to mix nutes for my seedlings. First dose is always 5 drops per gallon. It will seem like nothing but it is WAY better to underfeed than overfeed.
