Newbie Needs Cloning Help!

I've got two questions actually... is it possible to clone from the main stem or top of the plant?... and how important is it for there to be a trimmed node under the surface? Thank you

You can clip and grow anything with 4+ nodes. I wouldnt chop the stem though. I alwase leave enough to let th plant live. So while the clones are under cfls the mother or father is under a hps. This way i can find out ahead of time the sex. This way i wast no room, light, fert, and time.
