newbie need help

I started 4 seedlings and transplanted them into larger pots once they had sprouted. then 3 unexplainably died. the fourth is doing good, but only has leaves on the top. i have a light close to her and a fan blowing gently above her, not sure what i am doing wrong. any help would be great! One Love

"close" like touching or "close like 6"? what type of light?

a flourescent grow light. i moved the plant closer last night, its about 2-4 inches from the plant now

sry, i didnt respond very well. before i had it quite a ways away, about 1 foot, since i had 3 plants under the light. i am unable to hang the light up above them, it is leaning over it.

is it a cfl or tube light? do you know the color temp & lumens?

1ft is like the max distance a cfl can be from a plant. 1-2" is optimum.

Its tube. and im not sure what you are talking about, the room temperature by the plant is just under 80 degrees if thats what you mean. and the bulb is now about 2 or so inches from the plant. i have the light on 24/0, and the bulb is never hot to the touch, only slightly warm. i put the small fan to blow air around it, i heard this helped make the stems stronger. I am just worried cause she is already 5 or so inches tall and just now got her second set of serated leaves
