Hello Everyone!
My name is John and I am a just a student from Australia. I am new to the world of marijuana. I have no experience with it and have not yet experimented with it. I just wanted to give my thoughts about it and outlook on the topic. I have been really keen to get this out so I hope you respect my opinion. Here it goes...
First off, I am for Marijuana legalization. I believe that it is less harmful that both alcohol & tobacco. Marijuana is nature's medicine and it should be legalized globally. It simply does more good than bad, and for what reasons is it illegal? I see Marijuana as a social substance, like alcohol and tobacco. For example at parties you may have a case of beer and you can help yourself.. But why not a stack of joints? Alcohol kills... It's as simple as that. People drink themselves to death until the liver can't take it anymore. People get shit-faced and get in cars and causes horrific accidents killing innocent people and forever damaging the lives of many.
Marijuana on the other hand is mostly a relaxing substance. Yeah you shouldn't smoke it while operating a vehicle but it's more widely used to relax and chill out and a social norm. Lung cancer caused by tobacco smoking in the US from 2000-2004 killed 128,900 people. Deaths by Marijuana? The only way someone could die due to Marijuana smoking is if someone try to smoke a kilo at once and died because of smoke inhalation.
Medical speaking, I believe it's a amazing medicine..It's nature's medicine. Anyway, who's idea was it to illicit a fucking plant? A piece of nature. It's crazy to think about. It's a brilliant pain relief from all the stories I've heard. Cancer of course, surgeries, people who get unbearable migraines and so on.
As far as the stereotypes go.. I hate it. I hate it because it's an illicit drug and society looks down on you as a pot-head. I believe in personal freedom and because people look down on those who smoke it.. It's pathetic. Society thinks just because it's illegal it's bad to do and you're a scum bag for doing it. Do they think the same for all the successful celebrities who smoke it or used to smoke it like..
President Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Ex-President BIll Clinton, BIll Maher, Bill Gates, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, David Letterman, Jennifer Aniston, Morgan Freeman, Martha Stuart, Seth McFarlane, Johnny Depp, Robert Downey JR, Bryan Cranston and Snoop Dogg (Obviously).
So is Marijuana really that bad? When it becomes legal globally, I believe it should be granted to anyone over the age of 18 (maybe 21). And harsh penalties to those who smoke it under the age of 18.
As for myself, I plan on smoking it professionally and personally. Not in a social way at all. Just for my own personal use and enjoyment... I have social phobia so hey! It might help a bit. I hope Marijuana because a massive social norm like alcohol.
