Tripped circuits

Well-Known Member
so I started about three weeks ago, and managed to mess up royally. Now a restart, question is tho can I place seedlings directly under 600w MH? And how much air should be bubbling, I have a 70 gallon air pump with 4 outputs, one goes into each of my 4 buckets with a 5" airstone. It seems to bubble pretty good that I can hear it over the fan and the cooling vent. Thanks

Tripped: some of my friends grow with MH but you really have to know what you're doing and watch the heat very closely. Use the. 'back of the hand rule,' in adjusting the height of your fixture over your seedlings. I was able to convince some of them to try T-5 fluorescent lighting and the did with their seedlings and a couple even vegged under them but old habits are hard to change. They all went back to MH for flowering.
One took off for a long weekend and came back to a fried crop. I think he was lucky he didn't burn down his apartment. The others paid attention to their grows and did okay but their electric bills spiked and frankly what they grew was no better than mine. I think it a matter of choice of what you know how to use. Why don't you see what the experts recommend. I wish there was an easier way, but from what you ask, I get the impression you might be new to this so I’d suggest you RTFB and refer to the following resources:
1. Read: SeeMoreBud’s, “MARIJUANA BUDS FOR LESS- GROW 8 OZ. OF BUDS FOR LESS THAN $100.” It’s a must for dirt gardeners using CFL’s.
2. You’ll also want to read: Mc McCarthy’s, “GROWING MARIJUANA.” It’s another must for dirt gardeners.
3. Read: Jorge Cervantes’s, “MARIJUANA HORTICULTURE THE INDOOR/ OUTDOOR MEDICAL GROWER’S BIBLE.” It’s great for dirt and hydro.
4. Read: Ed Rosenthal’s, “MARIJUANA GROWER’S HANDBOOK.”
5. “THE CANNABIS GROW BIBLE- SECOND EDITION,” written by Greg Green, is a match, if not better than, the ones listed above.
6. You should also subscribe to, “HIGH TIMES,” magazine. Each issue is full of useful information and excellent photography.
All these resources are very well written, well illustrated and packed with information that will answer most of your questions before you know to ask them. Doing your homework before you grow by consulting these resources will save you and your plants a lot of anxiety. These forums are great but often they can’t get the information you need to you in a timely fashion. I sincerely hope this helps. HSA

That's a lot for a seedling but like said above just keep it at a safe height and then some and slowly lower it as the seedling becomes more established
