newbie help, Cloning and lighting (per se)

ok, well not exactly a newbie, i have very little experience in growing (even though i have a green thumb according to my grandma and mum and the last harvest yeilded some "killer shit!", witch i doubt, probably just being nice) but i've been trying to clone. my poor mother plant is being abused. i take cuttings from her and when i put the cutting into my cloner 4 out of 5 cutting get leaf rot and start mildewing. i keep the humidity around 80% (with no misting) and temp is a steady 70 degrees. am i missing something on cloning? only thing i can think of is removing them from the cloner for a set amount of time. any tips for a newbie?

lighting really isn't a problem, i can veg and flower with the cfl's no problem, but i started a timelapse video (witch i mentioned in a previous post, seed to harvest). so you can see the plants in the "night" period i used green lights (witch i was told wouldn't mess with the light cycle) unfortunately it turned out to b a male. but the cuttings i took from it was half female and and half hermie (only got 2 cutting that actually took see previous question). i'm assuming that the green light stressed the plant enough to turn it male. i would love to do another video from seed to harvest, but want a guarantee that the final result will b a female. i know i could order feminized seeds, but unfortunately not exactly growing legit. i was wondering, would infared light affect the "sleep" patterns of the growing plant? i have a bunch of infared LED's (940nM) that i bought accidentally on ebay and being the geek i am have already made an IR illuminator that will work with the camera i'm using.

i would like to know if this would cause stress to my girls or not. any and all help would b greatly appreciated :weed:
