Newbie Clone Question...

I've been reading up on this, looking to do it myself one day. But I've read anywhere from 3 days - 2 weeks+. Light on 24/0 and very warm. 78-84 and wet I believe (humidome possibly?)

I guess it also depends the way you do it (using root powder, water etc)

Hope that helped any !

google "bubble cloner" or "raft cloner" for an alternative to rockwool and humididome type of cloning.I did not like the latter and went (DWC) raft cloner and my 1st setup had clones rooted and ready to go in 2 wks.I found res temp 72F-75F (no dome needed) ideal.
google "cloning tutorial" for the basics and a 13 watt cfl(6500K) a foot away is all the light needed on 24 hrs.I like a 2nd cfl 2700K same wattage as my preference but not sure if it helps or not.

The way I did mine (and this was a first for me) was I cut the clones at a 45 degree angle...dipped them in rooting powder...then stuck them in potting soil.
I've read somewhere to have the lights on 12/12. So that's what I been having them on for the past 2 weeks. They seem to be staying alive pretty well, but no real noticable growth. So I just now switched the lights onto 24hrs. I keep the soil moist but not saturated.

I know I can't yank them up out of the soil to check on the root growth...so how do I tell when and if they are ready to be put in their permanent pots?

12/12 is false.atleast 18/6 but most do 24.when they have noticable grow then most likely rooted.clone roots are delicate so peeps do them in Rockwool cubes, clear dixie cups with pot soil or perlite mostly so they can see roots.if you do check one be very gentle but the 12/12 thing prob made them concentrate on flowering than rooting(It's a hormone thing).
