The more I read, the more I want to get into this but all the different ways is just so overwhelming. Overall, I'd just like to grow a few plants and get about a pound of weed in as easy and fast as possible. Definitely will be using soil..those other ways are just too much for me..although I considered an aerogarden but doesn't look like anyone's getting much unless they have a bunch of those things.
So I started with a seed just to see if I could do it. I didn't even expect it to sprout and now it's just a 4 day old pathetic thing with one leaf. From what I've read, I guess this is normal. I just put the baby plant under 2 CFL lamps for 24hrs but then the lights started to bug me so I've been shutting them off at night and on again in the morning. It's just a plant..sitting on a shelf in my bedroom. Light goes on, goes off. Not really any consistency but it's only been 4 days and isn't dead yet. It gets pretty black in my bedroom at night except for 2 lights coming from computer plugs.
Now that I somehow got this far.. I want to try to do this right and make the most of it..
I see a lot of people are growing in closets or grow boxes. Do I *have* to do this if it's not some big secret that needs to be hidden? I don't even have a closet that I could do this in.
If it grows best in an enclosed space, would one of these be good? (shelves are removable and adjustable)
I figured I could get one of those plug strips, converters and plug a few lighbulbs into and glue/tape it to the top of that thing.... I'd be willing to use any kind of lightbulb if I could make it that easy.
I know nothing about electricity other than how to buy bulbs.. and don't know anything about using a computer fan or exhaust or figuring out how to attach it to something. Couldn't I just leave the doors open and have fans blowing around except when the lights go off and then shut the doors to make the most out of the darkness?: Even after reading threads.. I"m just lost. Also, I have AC in my bedroom so it's not humid.
