newb please help a fellow stoney

i want a simple plant not to big just for me and my lady how many lights should i use and what kind, and how long do you think it will take?

i did go and got all kinds of info but i want some personal opinions seriously

Brotha it depends on SO MUCH. What area will you be growing in? Whats your budget? Your cheapest most basic way of growing would be to use CFL's. In that case drop 50 bucks on CFL's and you could grow in a card board box or cabinet if you wanted to. Also if you want a smaller size plant you could veg for 2 weeks with CFL's and then switch to flower and from that point your looking at anywhere from 7-13 weeks depending on strain. Indica's have shorter flowering periods and Sativa's longer. So bare mininum it would take you about 9 weeks from start to finish. But like I said there so many factors. Nutrients, air flow, lighting, space, and much more. You cant just throw a light over a plant and think youll strike gold. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN

Also you must find good genetics. Cheapest way would be CFL's/ soil/ and probably cheap nutrients with a tad bit of molases which you can pick up at a store for about 3 bucks. As long as you keep fresh air and research how to feed a plant in soil youll do decent. Shit you may get lucky.

ya dude all i want is to grow a small size plant ya know maybe an ounce or two from it i was going to grow it in my closet. so the cheapest lights are cfls and there fifty bucks??

The only thing to consider when you say you want to grow 1 plant is if you invest 2 months into your 1 plant and you switch it to flower and your 1 plant is a male.

I'm running a setup on CFL's its fairly low cost and looks like the plants will turn out fine. If you want you can check my journal in my sig. I have 3 females on 14 CFL light bulbs.

No CFL's are not 50 bucks but to get an ounce out of your plant youll need more than one CFL. More like 5 or 6 to get great results. And if your gunna grow one why not just throw 2 or 3 in there with 5 or 6 CFL's an ocilating fan and some good soil. Youll do fine. Im sure you could do it all for about 50 bucks.

wait so how much are cfls? and im growing in my closet and dont have too much space i only have room for maybe like 2 ok size plants so if i could do thid all for pretty cheap that would be great

Just drop some cash into this bro its worth spending the money for the result .. you dont need to spend thousands but a few hundred would go along way... id buy light off ebay and build my own grow room.. hope i helped :S
