And if you dont have enough light hitting them, the bottom leaves will statt dying, and the buds will all be really small. Lower branches can die right off. Its not good. But if its all just an experiment for you then dont sweat it. Just live and learn, practice and repeat, and enjoy the learning along the way.

ve never used cfls except to veg. Some guys do it. But theres just no production from them really. Buds are whispy and far apart usually. What you want is HID lighting, or theres some leds that work, lots that dont, but if you search riu you can find decent ones. Id just go with a 400 w hps. You can run one in a tent and toss two plants in the tent or closet every month. Run four plants in the tent and harvest two of them every 30 days. The usual flower time is around 60 days, so two into flower, and when theyre half done, two more go in. Average yield is .5-.75 gpw, so a 400 watt will give you around 250 grams if you run a full tent all at once, probably four plants.
