So I'm dipping my toes into RDWC, and am finding that everytime I find an answer to my question, Im also left with more questions. So I'm basically looking for someone knowledgeable in RDWC to look at my setup and tell me if it looks okay, as in functional..
I'm running 2- 12 gallon totes with a 5 gallon control bucket.
A 370gph active aqua duel pump
A 40L/min air pump running (6) 2" airstones(2 in each tank) with the net pots I can put about 12 gallons in before hitting net pot bottom.

And I'll be getting a .10hp hydrofarm water chiller soon.

Haven't hooked up a res yet just cause I need way more info in regards to nutrients lol

Looks like it would function.

Keep an eye on your screen as flow will restrict once root covers.

Enjoy and good luck.

Is it possible the pump and res can sit out side of grow area? If so a chiller may not be needed. Also where is the chiller sitting inside the grow area under the lights?

I also may be concerned with the small return lines and the strainers getting easily clogged. I Like the open gravity return system with no smaller than 2 in return pipe. Pa hydroponics makes and sells what they call a fall ponic they use 3 inch and people have seen roots back in the res. So i would guess your system could be very suspectable to clogging or partial clogging. I very much like fluid dynamics so if you have any questions send me message

Will this be in a tent, or a room? That system will work but I'd also be worried about roots clogging. I run 2" returns and my rez is over 4' away from the plant and I had roots comimg in the rez. You have a good concept. I'd have it so the pump is pumping from the rez to each site above the water line for a water fall then no need for air stones. Then just have a return from each site going to the rez. The best way would be run what you got and learn as you go. That's what I did. I built my system by trial as I went lol. Keep us updated and good luck

So this is a little update on my setup. I read through comments and altered a few things accordingly.

I'm attaching edited photos showing the direction of flow.
Without altering the already drilled holes and using the bulk heads that came with this setup I had to get creative.. im using the bulkheads provided which are 3/4" internal.
They also have 1/2" threads on the inside so I attached 1/2" to 1inch female and ran 1 inch through the whole system...
Until I got to the T-Split... im not a plumbing guy so please don't laugh.

I had to somehow (without prior knowhow) get it down from a 1" to a 1/2" in the span of 7 or so inches before connecting to the inlet adapter on my pump. But it seem to be working lol20220922_005458.jpg20220922_004555.jpg20220922_004627.jpg20220922_004643.jpg20220922_004711.jpg20220922_011120.jpg
