new to growing, need some major help!

hey there guys, this is my first post here!

hope i'm not asking the way too obvious, but here goes

I've asked another forum, but not got any answers really, and i was reccomended by a member there via pm to look at other forums - for more info.

since looking and asking there, i've thought about the "sog" method, is this a good method to get a high yield? my grow space will be aprox 5 ft high, 5ft wide and 3ish feet deep (should i consider any other size?)
it should be made out of mdf and painted white inside.

i think im using a 600w ballast lamp - but i dont know which one to choose!

i have about £200-300 (gbp) to spend on this.

for sog, would it be possible to grow say ak-47 strain, and nebula strain at the same time?

how many plants should i put in the grow space, and how much bud would i expect to get in what time frame?

any other strains i should consider?
and i'm guessing i should clone, so i don;t have to keep spending money on seeds?

if the dimensions of the box are ok, i'll put a drawing of what i think it'll look like up! (and take photos this weekend as it should be made this weekend)

sorry for all the questions, but i have a physical disability and need to be able to explain what i need made/set out concisely to the person who's helping me

just to add the ak-47 and nebula seeds are expensive, so maybe i should try others for my first grow?

you will get a high yield only if you have a shitload of plants.The SOG method doesnt give your plants time enough to reach peak maturity,which is smaller plants.so your yield is smaller.Meaning your on a time frame.Its perfect if you want a harvest every 2 weeks.But i dont have the space so i dont grow SOG. method.I need lots of bud! Hope this helps you out.

i'm gonna use "stoned free guide to growing" the old vid, is this a good starting point?

i'm kinda hoping the mdf grow space will be built by my helper this weekend, but it might be next!

this is exciting stuff!

i'll probably need help with where to put fans/exhausts.

what light would you reccomend that's good for all stages of plant growth?

Naahhh thatt stuff is too old and outdated.Go on youtube.com and just type in marijuana,and watch every vid. they have on growing.(Tons of useful info on that site.i know i watched just about all of them)
You can flower and veg. under flouros,but the buds wont be as big and thick!I would go metal halide lamp for vegitation stage,i recommend 18/6.which is 18 hours of light and 6 hours of complete darkness.
Then Flower with a High Pressure sodium lamp when you cange the light schedule to 12/12.Thats what i do and have outstanding results.i have 400w. over 6 plants in a DWC setup.Hope this helps.
 
you not thought of buying a purpose built grow room?
Grow Tents

may work out cheaper and easier to set up then buying a load of mdf

a 600w hps will be fine throughout the whole grow, just make sure you can keep the temps in check
 
yea you might wanna think of something like that.The grow Tent gives you a controlled environment, and thats what we are shooting for.So you really just need to have them enclosed in something or in a small enough space to control your temp,humidity ,etc..

looking at that (although there's a drs 120 for £80? what's the difference?)

i was told on another forum, hydro can be harder to use -
it won't be me setting it up/watering etc, it'll be my helper, so i need to be able to explain it to them ;p

what should i be looking at?
is it much more difficult aswell?

this stuff will be put up in my garage, i have no idea how cold it gets in there, but i can put insulation around the tent i guess?

well then your helper needs to be by your side evertime your online researching growing.
Yes hydroponic has its defficientcies but there is a more controlled environment that you have total control over.There is alot you need to know.
Temperature is another factor you need to know cause it can affect your grow!
Let the GrowFaq be your best friend for the next few weeks! Read all the weed mags you can like,hightimes,cannabis culture,skunk,weed world, and whatever else you can read thats updated on growing.I get 'em all.
