New to DWC

Hey guys! I have another journal on this site which was strictly soil and I wanted to give DWC a try. Im using a 5 gallon system I have everything I need I just want to make sure I am using it all correctly lol

I pHed my water to 5.8 and my PPMs are 500 starting out right now. Will this be ok for a baby? She would be getting put in the net pot after a day of showing her cotelydons.

Also, what is the best way of keeping the nutrient level the same while adding water to keep the res at the perfect height?

I have my PPM meter and my pH meter I figured I would just see what Im at, then add water and nutrients and just adjust from there to keep around the same PPM sounds simple enough

Hi Patch,

that sounds a bit early for adding it to your system? Just my thoughts and i'm sure people will have other ideas and it may be ok to add them that early, but I like my plants to be a little bigger than that before adding them to my system. What are they growing in at present?

As for your ppm's is that 500ppm straight from the tap? When adding water the system you have chosen is as good as any, everyone has their own way of doing it I guess.

Good luck with your grow anyway, it's good to see someone make the change to the only way to grow weed!! Shhh don't tell the soil growers I said that!! lol

As far as keeping the nutrient level the same, you can mix up another bucket with the same level of nutes and add as needed.

Patch has took the dive into hydro just like I did. All sounds well just get that girl going and if you put her in early make sure the feed is very very weak and you should be fine. Once I get to mid flower I'll start one of the other seeds I have so she'll have a ahead start and can be a me to take almost full strength feed. I'll be subbin up once you get it going bro. Peace
