Good day all, I'm nimbus 
I'm very quite new to all this. Don't mind that this is my second post. =P
Questions are near the bottom paragraphs
Anyway, I'm interested in growing and I have practically no growing experience of any plants whatsoever. Although I am an amateur environmentalist studying "Environmental Monitoring and Technology" So basically I have all the theory and some of the equipment I need to start to grow. Minus the nutrients, but they are easily obtainable.
Last night, I read through the MicroPC grow thread in the journals and I found that quite enticing to start to grow. The reason why I want to grow even though I have not smoked long enough, only about a few months is that its hard to find a dealer. That and I'm a pretty paranoid person. So growing for my own personal use and maybe for mates but not tell them I'm growing.
My setup was going to be the same, however in an average ATX size pc case. I want it to be as stealthy as possible, because my mates are very snoopy and would go telling people. Or do the whole "M
ates rates, just give us some for free" And although I probably will if they ask. I'm sure they'll take advantage of that. So in a PC case would be perfect as I have a few pc cases around the house. And it would virtually go unnoticed because I'll keep it in my closet with most of my PC gear (I sell a few items on ebay for side money) My mates know this so keeping it in there will be beneficial.
Because of this I'm mostly worried about the smell,
for that I thought about buying one of these

So this is my first question, would this be suitable to keep the smell down to an absolute minimal, almost non-existant? I would not like to cut holes in my wall to get rid of the smell. And placing it near the window would not be an option because mates will look at it and be pondering as to why I have a pc case near a window with a pipe leading out. =P
My second question regards to the type of strain, because it is in a confined space, I would like to know if you guys could suggest to me a type of strain that would be suitable for such an operation?
Does the size of the plant depend on where it is situated? Perfect analogy would be fish? How some fish can only grow as big as their tanks.
For lights, soils, ferts, Nutes, etc. I'll think of these more down the track and find out whats available from local hardware stores. But my main concern is smell and type of strain.
