New technique for vaping rosin

Since I purchased a Slug33 Fat Mac forge, I've been refining how to vape the fragrant product it produces and finally after many laborious hours in the lab I now present to the world what I reckon must be unquestionably the finest most delicious method of vaping rosin.

The concept is to suspend the rosin inside a substrate that itself is suspended in the stream. I'm using the vapexhale that sends up a tube of warm air through the basket, however as you can see from the photos the rosin stays within the substrate so it looks like it would work in most basket type weed vapes.

I used 100% quality cotton and tease a little fluffy bit so it's nice and airy then flatten it a touch, and wave some heat near the rosin and wait for a bead to drop onto the cotton. Then with another similar bit of cotton I place it over the bead and gently place the whole fluffy concoction into the vape.

The result was quite astounding, apart for the flavour which just goes on and on, the hit gets stronger and stronger, and at no time was there any nastiness from burned oil.

As you can see from the after shots the rosin did not get on the basket. The main point of this for me is simply the flavour, I tried a bead in the glass nail that comes with the vapexhale but really there was no comparison, and that's even without the mess. I threw the nails away.

My FireFly2 is pretty well a useless piece of shit as it gets clogged up with oil and is impossible to clean unless it is completely dismantled to the point that most people do not want to go, (I might do a tutorial on that if anyone is interested). 1 ff.jpg2 ff.jpg

OK now we're ready 3 ff.jpg 4 ff.jpg First up Pineapple Gum5 pineapple.jpg6.jpg7.jpg8.jpg
OK this is the back of the cotton9.jpg and here is the bowl. Success! 10.jpg

Next came some White Widow. Load 11 white widow.jpg cover 12.jpg after front13.jpg after back 14.jpg

It was time to bring out the big guns, so I wheeled out Pink Grapefruit with a super size blob...

Nice and fat which would normally entail a complete dismantle after a few pipe 16.jpg 17.jpg

Here's the after shots front and back. Small amount on the screen, easily cleaned.18.jpg19.jpg

The smoke with the FireFly just goes on and on it doesn't block up the holes or burn anything. I felt I could have got another hit out of it if I needed. Taste was superb all the way through.

are you saing cotton balls are better than the extract pads that come with the firefly? also did you send yours in for the firfly 2+ upgrade?

Oh yes I am definitely saying they are better than the extract pads because they are metal and the oil simply drips off them into the bottom of the oven no matter how little amount you put it. The cotton on the other hand sort of suspends the rosin so and it does not even drip out it just stays in place.

It was just a proof of concept with the FF because it's such a royal PITA. Yes I've contacted them but it will still be shit because the algorithm that runs it is daft, and it overheats and they won't supply spare parts.

thanks for the info, never thought to bother with extract since people say it clogs it, guess I can try now

Yeah but it's not just the mess, by suspending in cotton you get the full flavour, it's like the rosin sublimates instead of boiling. And the wispy bits of cotton will keep the main ball off the sides of the basket. This is with my very sticky rosin, with an easier to handle concentrate this method would be even better.
