I just received an order from Mountain Rose Herbs. Bought myself a variety of herb seeds... Peppermint, catnip, chamomile, Lavender, etc.

I've also been contemplating growing some other, more "altered consciousness" inducing herbs and plants. Dream herb, San Pedro cactus, Sinicuichi... A couple of good sites I've used in the past for seeds: I Am Shaman, and Ethnogarden Botanicals

The beauty of herbs is that you can fill a flat full of seeds in the fall, keep it indoors while the seeds germinate and begin to grow, and then come spring time you can either keep it inside, or move it outside and plant in the ground. It doesnt require a whole lot of tending... :-) Same premise as your ladies... You just need to know what environment each type of plant likes to grow in.

Here is a question for you guys who grow herbs. How the hell do you keep insects off of them. I had some lemon basil that got severely molested this summer, no matter what I tried the Japanese beetles and other insects ate the hell out of it. Any suggestions?

Hi godspeed, Japanese beetles are voracious...the only thing that keeps them under control are the Japanese beetle traps which lure them away from my plants.

These bag a bug traps(Spectrum) keep most of these nasty bugs from my gardens.

Just got my San Pedro and Peruvian Torch seeds last night!! :)

I also received a bag of Blue Afghani Poppy seeds with my mycology order from SporeBank, though I dont recommend ordering from them. They tried to dick me around, and I ended up waiting for almost three weeks to receive my order... >/

Good stuff... My girlfriend is kinda giving me the eye these days... with all the new plants and whatnot springing up around the house! haha She'll thank me when everything starts producing.
