I felt that when I laid out the frame but between how hot these boards can potentially get(can’t find my temp gun) and the lack of spread of light I’m tempted to go 4 board over the standard 3 for this 4x4
Go for it, i always rec more board, leverage diode count. More board will firstly increase electrical efficiency, then reduce temps (again better efficiency) and allow you to go closer which means you lose less light (bettrr optical efficiency) and then provide more light sources for an omnidirectional light at cannopy. More boards is win-win-win.

Well I ordered 12 boards, 9 4K and 3 3k. So I’ll try 4 4k per 4x4 with red strips(2 tables). And one with the 3 3k with one 4K board with less strips. Luckily I have some Hlg and Chinese boards left over to cover another table. The problem most of them is 35k and I wasn’t too keen on adding strips to 35k boards. But everything getting put to use so it’s going to be interesting to see how they react to these different spectrums. Since I have time untill I’m in my new space I don’t have to set them all up so I’ll just try the 4K Board and red strips for now. Thanks Guys. Might go ahead and try some of that uvb with any left over clones I have

View attachment 4335591 Light finished and hung.I’m going to double check the wattage but last I known it was at 540 from wall and they are barely warm. I ended up doing 4 4K 800 boards and 5 cutter red strips. View attachment 4335589
@budman410
Do you have a link to the strips reds I find cutter has alot and cant be hard to find a certain strip? how long are they, spec ?
One last question how did you drive it?
Looks great, I would like to do something similar.

I did 4 far red and 8 red. I used a Hlg 60a driver, someone said 10percent of total power so I’m trying that out.
Very nice. How much power white and how much red?
The white is 540 watts and and red is a little over 60 watts split between the 5 strips

What kind of lights your using? And solid core wire all the way, ordered some stranded by mistake unless you want to solder the wires they are a pain to deal with compared to solid core

I am using the cutter sol skins

30 x 3000k 90cri
24 x 3000k 80cri

3 x 480 drivers

Haven't even bought wire yet . Thinking I may solder and heat shrink everything. Not sure yet to be honest.

Sound like a nice setup, I’m assuming these are going to be different fixtures or all on one frame? My biggest fixture is 48’x48’ would prefer not to go that big again it’s just so bulky and I set up everything myself

Yes they will be 3 fixtures

3'x4' each

Covering a 3x12 table

Will be my first time using led, so I'm pretty excited

Ohhh perfect coverage, mine shy by a foot so I’m watching the edges to see for my next fixtures if I will need to go back to 4’x4’.
