Hi all - just wanted to share some pictures of my flowering plant & get some opinions on how long it will take to finish under CFLs & tube fluros - I knowIknow but that's all I could afford & to be honest I think she looks pretty bushy & full. She has been on 12/12 about 3 or 4 weeks - I lost track.

that's been flowering 3-4 weeks? I can't see any buds in the picture, has she started to bud yet? have you closed yourself in her room during lights out to make sure you don't have a light leak problem? At this rate I think you will have to get very lucky or cut her down to early to have a decent yield and final product cut in mid july.

yeah, you should have something to smoke by mid july........

but i agree with regrets.... you should have way more bud production by this point, check your room for light leaks, you may still be vegging and not know it.

Should she have more well developed buds??? I'm only using CFL & fluro. Some people say these lights take longer because they are not that strong right? I haven't checked for light leaks. Should I use a black sheet over the closet to cover cracks if so?

yeah, you really need to check for light leaks...... I don't know if cfl's and floro would take longer to show signs of budding, but i would think that after 3-4 weeks, you should really see something.... but that time, I'm half way through flowering, and my buds are about half to 3/4 their final size.

Would the little white hairs pop up everywhere as well as the growth changing from opposite to alternate if it is still vegging? It seems to not be growing many leaves at this point & I can see the bud sites just no bud yet.

the strain definately matters but by 3 weeks, you should atleast see some small buds beginning and definatley some added growth if your at 4 weeks. the type of light shouldn't really alter the length of flowering too much (just quantity) most of that is genetic. I would really suggest that at lights out tonight you get in there with your ladies and see how much light is seeping in, it should really be pitch black. Also are you using bloom nutes because that helps to switch the plant over as well.

no, this has nothing to do with it, only the maturity of the plant dictates this.... it just means the plant is older.....

and take regrets suggestion, get in there tonight when the lights go off, I think your going to be amazed at how much light is probably getting in..... needs to be pitch black.

I'm going to buy a king size black sheet to drape over the doors although when I'm in the dark period 10pm-10am there is no light on in the room & the window shade is closed although it is a white shade so sunlight does get through.

I am using MG 15-30-15 bloom booster very sparingly. Is this O.K.? The MG soil I used already had nutes in it & I don't want to burn or have too much chemicals in my soil. I used hair clippings, nail clippings, little stems from bud I smoked, & dried/crumbled leaves from some male plants in the soil. I know that they don't provide much, but these things all will give slow release nutes right?

the bloom boost obviously isn't the best possible nute for your plants but as long as you are using it sparingly and your plants aren't showing signs of burn you should be fine. All of that other stuff you put in their breaks down far to slowly to do anything for your plants, that stuff needs to be composted, the leaves from the male plants and the stems may add something miniscule but pretty much doing things like this are a waste of time. Unless your male plant haad some disease though or you have some nail fungus these things won't harm your plants though so if that's what your into you should be fine. If your looking for something cheap and easy to add to your soil get some blackstrap mollasses or sucanat, both are great sources of carbs for your plants and will help them build bigger sweeter buds. Good luck on the rest of your grow.
