New patient in Eugene needs a provider

I just got back from visiting the doctor who recommended that I use medical marijuana to treat pain and now I need a grower. I'm working on a few leads, but still shopping around for the relationship that would suit me best. I receive VA disability (40%, building a case for more) so my income is limited. I also have a section 8 voucher which restricts me from growing for myself. I'm looking for a situation where I am supplied with free medicine and the provider retains any over production for their self and other legal patients.

Is that a reasonable request?

I would feel more comfortable putting a provider on my OMMP application if they could demonstrate to me that they are an experienced grower, able to produce quality medicine.

This process is new to me, but I'm learning quick. Thanks for any feedback.

Also, I've seen posts on craigslist by people claiming they are OMMP legal growers and offer $100 an oz. Is it legal for me to reimburse them their expenses and get medicine even though they are not my sanctioned provider?

Not unreasonable to expect to get free meds for your card. Good idea in having them somehow prove how good they are at growing.....there are so many people out there that just seem to have no clue.....

Be careful with Craigslist. Technically it is legal, I guess for you to buy, but I would not want to test that theory out on the streets, in handcuffs, while they sort out who you are and why you are buying marijuana on the streets.

Sounds like you are a good person, and I wish you good luck! Congrats on your soon to be legal status! I always recommend going to MAMA clinic to find a grower, but be very selective, not everyone is as good at their craft as they say......make sure they have some free meds to GIVE you and that they are smokeable to your liking before you trust someone.

the only person in handcuffs would be the seller, not the buyer. at least here in oregon, that is.

but yeah, an ounce a month is reasonable, but i would stay away from those $100 ounces. they are most likely "downtown brown" if ya catch my drift.

I was merely saying that cops will handcuff you until they sort it out....who is a patient and who is not. Just the way I envision things happening, because they do not know who is the dealer and buyer until they confirm stuff.......maybe I am just paranoid....haha.

Thanks for your response to my questions hazorazo. i got a clear picture of how to carry on once i get legal now. Cops are crooked as shit. I saw a utube video where some guy who was totally legal had 7grand and all of his harvest confiscated. He was running a dispensary though and making bank off patients in CA. I like oregon's system because a ton of patients are low income and respectable growers make medicine at no cost to patients imho.

Have you found someone yet? Hope your search has gone well! I will be down at the Oregon Medical Cannabis Awards, so you should come down and say HIGH. I will be glad to pass along some meds on the house, especially if you let me know in advance that you are going to be there. Also, there is a MAMA social coming up, for any people in need of a grower, you might check there, too.
