Just started researching for indoor grow. been at for for about 3-4 months and have decided to start with a 2x2 tent to test my hand at growing. I used the grow builder site to basically put a kit together that might be compatible. any tips your guys can spare would be greatly appreciated. I was initially wanting to try hydroponics but talked my self out of it with the warnings of how finicky it is. what im hung up on is the time from germinating to having a stem. do you guys plant it directly to the final grow pot or majority transplant pots as it grows? Thanks in advance.

Few questions. Have you chosen your strains? Auto or photo?

What did you choose for a light?

You'll get a dozen answers from a dozen growers about transplanting. Which to me suggests there's no best way, but more right ways then wrong. I like rapid rooters myself, but largely because I lack patience and discipline so I like to be able to see the seed germinate. Photos usually go from just the rapid rooters, to a 4" pot, to a 1 gallon to their final home on jo set schedule, just whenever I feel like it. Autos I go from the starter cube to 1 gallon for 10 days to their final pot. But thats certainly not the only way to do it.

Best advice I can give is to just start simple: pick a routine you've seen work for someone else and adjust it to suit your preferences as you learn more.

Browsed around the LED thread and decided on the Spiderfarmer sf1000. also decided to change tent size to 3x3. will still be starting with one plant as a test to see what I lack in. I was thinking I could just germinate and plant into 3 gallon pot until harvest. I did look up people using a solo cup to start and then placed into the final 3 gallon pot.

The SF1000 is great light but keep in mind it will only flower a 2x2 area with good results. Id still get the 3x3 so you can just add another light down the road without getting a whole new tent though. As long as you keep your girl centered under the light and on the smaller side that light will cover the canopy of one plant no problem.

A lot of people plant straight into the final pot, the main reason it's not recommended is it's easy to over water. A smaller pot or solo cup with good drainage will dry out quicker and is easier to water correctly early on. Either way will work though. Good luck with your grow!

Good to know. I will look for another setup.
