New Lumatek info

I just bought 5 lumatek 1000 watt 240v ballast. These are supposed to be the latest gens from lumatek. They have the brightness knobs and breakers.
I read a bunch that digis are problem ridden. I am hoping to hear from those that have first hand experience in using them.
Ie, what bulbs work and wont work. How long is the life expectancy of any given bulb.
And last, has Lumatek worked out the bugs with the latest generations?
With all respect can we keep replies to those that have first hand experience.
Thanks for the great site and all the excellent source of help.

I have the purple lumateks. No brightness knobs but they are the good ones with no rf nterfereence and a white button on the back. I have two. A 600 and a 400. I love them! I love lumatek. Qualitty. I kept my 400 on 24/7 and run the 600 12 and 12 and have zero complaints. Many months now. When I replaced the magentics the brightness was noticable. They got that 30 percent. Very cool. I have used a lot of bulbs and no probs. I think the bulb will say if it wont work.

I have two 1k's w/built in dimmers 240v.

Bulb choice is critical... I had one lumetek quit, I replaced it and immediately blew out the Phillips bulb that was only three months old(12/12).

The other lumetek was using a Ushio bulb w/no probs, so I ordered another one. Got it a week ago and all is fine.

I run a small cooling fan over the ballasts - don't know if it helps but it sure doesn't hurt.
