New leaves are smaller leaves than the old leaves...

I know I have read about this someplace before. My top leaves are smaller than the ones before them. Can someone remind me what this means again, I know it's not a good thing.

ummm....no that sounds right...top leaves are ALWAYS smaller then the bottom ones.

But shouldn't they eventually be getting bigger than the leaves under them?

No. the bottom leaves are always larger. New growth is never bigger then older growth. If it is then you have a problem.
