new hydro grower

i use the flora 3 part system my water was fine at first but a few days later i got white bubbley stuff around my grow nets is that normal? and i beleve i have a little alge can i use alge cleaner for fish tanks or do i need something else?

Hey trunks, the white bubbling could be from a number of things: too much airflow in your system, nutrient fall out, some kind of contaminate. Yes, a very little froth is bearable, but the reasons behind it could become a problem and should be found. If you are still active and can see this post, hopefully I can find out more about your system and try to isolate the problem. At most aquarium stores you can find algae removers, but if your nutrients are not being exposed to light with good airflow in the system, algae buildup should not be a problem. Your safest alternative would be to make a new solution, clean your old buckets out without damaging the roots, foliar spray distilled water into the root system to try to remove any contaminants on your roots (only for a brief moment because light exposure to root systems is detrimental) and restart with a new, clean system.

In addition, something that is extremely beneficial to any DWC system to keep it clean is an enzymatic formula such as sensizym or hygrozyme. These will break down dead protein masses to keep your system clean and prevent all those nasty buildups and diseases .
