I have a 6'x6' space i'm going to be flowering in.. I'm debating whether I need 2x 1000w digitals or 2x 600w. I'm going to be flowering in 3 gal pots. I know I want/need around 10,000 lumen / sq ft i'm just looking for some input for my best bet. Any help would be appreciated

Either would be fine, one 1000 watt with a light rail might be a better option or two 600s on a light rail. GL

if it was me i would do 2 1000s on a rail to slide side to side and up and down, also i would have alot of fresh air and air movement because a space that size you can grow easy 36-50 plants and they will need the air for themselfs and to vent the smell

I've read that it's cheaper to run two 600 watts than one 1000 watt, but haven't proven it yet. Just a suggestion. Good luck, I will be following.

Hmm.. I'm really still at a stand still here.. I was really not looking to invest in a light mover because I was hoping the two lights would cover my area well. I know that a light mover is still ideal for full penetration but my game plan is to move them manually for now. I have an exhaust fan moving 750cfm and a 6" intake opposite the room and I will have a wall mount fan to circulate air throughout the plants. I'm kind of just now figuring out my temp situation with the hotter months coming up.. Debating on an A/C unit but I think I can keep the room cool enough since i'll be running air through the lights as well. So, heres a bit more info. I'm not growing SOG, I want big healthy plants (I think) for now.. Recommendations? Should I just go 2x 1000's or is the power consumption + heat + overall production just not worth it? I was eyeballing lumatek's dual 600w digital's.. The $ really isn't an issue, just don't want overkill when its not needed

IMO u can never ever have over kill with light but light produces heat thats the problem...i would go with 2 600 watt lights only because of heat....if your hoods are vented then thats a plus cause i got a 3.5 x6.5 x8 flower room with 1 600 and the heat is killing me .....you can not use a track in such a small room and vent your hoods at the same at least i cant i have my ex.fan hooked right to my light and then ran out my wall tryed the light track and it hits the wall ..i dont think u need a track. how many plants are u gonna put in there and how tall u gonna flower til? u do it right and u can produce 2 pounds a month outta that size room if u did a rotating plant cycle

For 6x6 I think you need 4x600W to properly cover, particularly if you want to grow larger plants.
Think about it for a minute, a 600W covers 3x3 well, 1000W covers 4x4. If you use 2x1000W, you'll definitely need a mover and the outer edges will suffer somewhat. 2x600W will only cover half the room.
To control the heat you will need to aircool the lights. An 8in. Vortex should do the trick, then a 6in can handle the movement of fresh air into the room while it also removes any remaining heat. Except for the hottest months of the year, you can do without the AC unit. Make sure you have one just in case. 15k BTU should be big enough. Eventually you can eliminate the exhaust with the addition of CO2 injection. Then the 6in can sit in the corner recirculating through the filter.

i hear what u are saying ...i have a 3.5x6.5x8 room i use a hps i could use a lil more light but i def think its enough light..as for 3 x 600 watts in a 6x6 room good luck on getting rid of the heat....my ex.fan is 750 or 850 cfm my in fan is 650 from my window,in the winter my room is 80 degrees last week it was 60 outside, my room hit 99 degrees the only way your gonna cool a room that size with 3 lights is stick a ac unit in it thats just my opinion.....now u mention the c02 in the room ... i just re hooked mine up any ideas how high my temp can go and still be safe? posted this last week no answers yet..

Bulla, are you aircooling the lights? You'll find that with aircooling, heat is pretty easy to deal with. As long as you use big enough fans and ducting. Ducting and hoods also have to be tightly sealed.
My rooms have 5x600W each and a 12K BTU ac unit in each one. No other exhaust. Totally sealed with CO2 injection and dehummers. Temps rarely get above 82, which is probably the max temp you can run safely. In winter, the AC doesn't run much at all.

I have 3 ladies in bloom with one 400w HPS...ther're doing awsome. I thought for sure I would need a 6oow but I guessed wrong. So heat for me isn't a problem. I just added another 3 in the room.. It's only a 4x6 six but it's not as crowded as I thought it would be. How many ladies were you planing on stuffing in there?

no im sucking the air outta my room threw my light

I plan on doing about 15 in flower.. I currently have a 750 cfm exhaust going with a 6" intake at the bottom of the room... The room itself is actually about 13x6 1/2x 6 1/2" but I have a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2" veg tent inside as well. I plan to use another 500~ cfm to pull hot air out of the hoods and have its own separate exhaust. I am however probably going to need a/c as well.. How do most of you run your A/C setups? I'm assuming its semi pointless to have my main exhaust fan running extracting the cool air the a/c is pumping in? I don't plan on going co2 for awhile.. What's my best option for the heat? I'm not having an issue really inside the veg tent with heat yet.. We've had a couple mid 90's days already and the top of my ladies hit 80~ tops.. Usually a degree or two cooler...
