so crazy thought... being new to the hobby...was just reading on grafting...Would it be possible to take a large cutting and graft it onto an older stalk?
Well my original thought was: Take a good sized branch off a mother plant. Graft it onto the stalk of a plant that was just harvested. So keeping the massive roots from the old plant to feed the new plant, and have maybe accelerated growth?

Test it and report back dude, no harm in it. I would imagine you would need to reveg the harvested plant before making the graft, and if your re-vegging the harvested plant why not just use that rather than grafting etc.
I believe the revegging to be a necessary first step. The trunk must be hormonally rigged to grow and support a youthful vegging branch. And a reveg takes time and technique (don't prune the older plant down to nothing). cn
