New growth looks bad

I have a number of plants under a 400 watt MH. Various strains but almost all have been developing this weird new growth? It's hard to explain but the new growth seems to keep facing towards the light and not shooting out and laying perpendicular?

Can anyone help!!??

I'm not saying that this is your problem but I abandoned metal halide years ago for vegging. I use daylight flouresent four foot tubes and a 400w/ mercury vapour. A mercury vapour is much like a mh but frosted. A mh puts out a spectrum more like a cool white tube which is basically only good for cloning.

I've had new growth like that before. I think the plant is just growing fast at this point, those leaves should fill out over the next couple days and begin to look normal. You could probably flip to flowering any time now.

yea since my flowering room has lost 2 to hermies, I've already moved my pineapple express from the veg area to bud. Would have rather topped and grew but hey, like a new job, I had an opening.

I take my clones straight from the bin to the hps. Every good gardener needs a pump up water sprayer for giving your plants a good spraying every once in a while. I'm a big fan of foliar feeding.

every 3rd watering I provide nutes. I use BC Grow, BC Boost, MagCal+, and B1 supplement.
I've invested a good $1,500.00 and to be honest I really don't have the $ for a ph meter. Kinda hoping for the best. I was thinking its due to the frigid weather and my room ranging from 50 at night to 70 when lights are on?
