ok..i have a little bit of a problem...i have 1 seed in a cup of backyard soil which i cleaned and sterilized which is under 2 cfls about 3 inches away..i have 4 more seeds..3 popped and 1 hasnt(yet)....heres the problem..i got some pretty good organic soil at my girls house(organic stuff with pearlite and shit like that)and i cant get it until saturday,and the seeds in the napkin will be ready by 1 or 2 days and i dont want to leave them in there for to long cuz i dont know what will happen,and i dont want no more backyard soil involved in this grow ..so is there somethin i can do cuz im stumped...feedback please
oh yeah and the three seeds that cracked.the root is coming out of one about 2 centimeters at the most how much longer i got on these????
 
so itll work as long as i got good drainage ..??at least till i get my soil...but will my seeds last until saturday??i got good soil but i cant get it till sat.
 
you can drop the seeds in a cup of water till then...just stir the cup gently every now and then till saturday...
 
if you keep the paper towel most till saturday, they will last . when i gern i put the seeds in damp paper towel then inside a sealed jar. in a black bag in my closet. lol and leave them there for almost 2 wks the tails on those baby are like half inch long when i open the jar....they can last a long time in the germ stage..you should be fine
 
Even if you just put them into some "yard dirt" it would be fine til Saturday. It's not like they are going to start sucking up nutes yet anyway. You can repot when you get your good stuff.
 
so im fine??just panicking like all newbies do on the first grow??thank you guys seriously..you eased my mind..and i dont have patience but ill try my best..i got a thread call help!!!!/ so i hope the experts here will follow it and keep my plants alive cuz once they sprout ill prolly panic and kill them all....thanks really
 
if you dont know much about caring for a seed, just plant into soil till then it should be fine, or just leave in a moist paper towel till sat, but dont let it dry out.
 
cool..easy enough..either plant them or keep em wet till saturday..id rather keep them wet cuz i dont know much about transplanting(or anything else)and i dont want to mess it up
 
hey...when should i expect to see sprouts..i just planted a germinbated seed like today basically..how many days am i lookin at before she(hopefully she) pokes into the world????
 
I have had one in a paper towel after it split for like a week the leaves formed and everything. It was probably stunted if i would have kept it but i tossed it cause i didnt have time to grow.
 
ok im REALLY confused and kinda pissed..i had this seed in the dirt for like 3 day and nothin..and i mean nothin..no progress at ALL..so i threw it out cuz it pissed me off(it shoulda grew at least a damn centimeter right)..heres what really got me..i have seeds in a wet paper towel for like 4 days now..the just about all cracked..since they cracked they show 0 progress..i put this new seed in yesterday and BAM..this mornin that 1 bitch got a tail of like an inch so i replaced that one with the one that wasnt growin..can some 1 tell me whats goin on please!!
 
i get my seeds and put on a paper towel, and leave on my cable box, cos its the rite temp there, i leave inbertween two plates.
and every time after 20 to 40 hours they have popped and ready to plant, and they normally show, between 12 to 24 hours after that.
maybe your temps are too high or low, and the paper towel, should be only damp.
best temp for germing seeds is 65 to 70 id say.
better luck next time, and dont get mad and sling them.
some take longer than others, but try germing ontop or a pc or a cable box, where its warm, it works every time.
 
dont keep the paper towel too wet, and when you have it on your cable box, inbertween 2 plates, dont wet the paper towel, just spray, with water,that has stood for a day or 2.
ive been growing for 9 months now, and have different probs, every day or so, and i was a gardener to start with, but weed is a different kettle of fish.
hope you get the hang of it.
but try to slow down, they dont grow over night.
insted of say growing 4 or 8 plants all at the same time, start 1 of 2 every 2 weeks, so you have more practice and more frequent harvests, and then if you fuck up, with one plant you still have you others.
only a suggestion.
and you will find, every 2 weeks, you start a grow, then you will have learned from that plant, and put what you have learned into your new plant, 2 weeks behind.
 
go to the store and get them a small bag of soilless mix? Temp is key for all things that are trying to grow roots. If you want these plants to live why wait till sat?
