New grower questions

I am a first time grower. I started my plants a few weeks ago, but fertilized too early and only one survived. I started a new batch a few days ago, they are 3-4 inches tall and are getting their first 2 leaves. The older plant is about the same height and has 8 leaves. I am using a "grow light" i purchased at walmart and a medium mix of 50% potting soil, 50% perlite. I have 12 plants growing in 16oz plastic cups. As of right now i have an organic blood meal 12% nitrogen fertilizer and liquid miracle grow fertilizer you add to the water. I have not used either yet.

My questions are:

Are my fertilizers sufficient and in what combo should i use them and when should i start fertilizing?

How big should they be when I transplant them?

Is there any way to sex them early?

How long until they reach the flowering cycle?

Thanks!:weed:

Both the fertilizers you're using have a tendency to burn, and you really don't need the died blood, because there's already enough nitrogen in the MG. I would start MG after transplanting, and at 1/4 strength.

How big should they be when I transplant them?

About 2- 3 weeks after staring them in cups. When they're working on they're 4th set of reeal leaves, pop one out of the cup and if the roots are swirling around the bottom, it's time.

Is there any way to sex them early?

I would just grow them for the next 5 weeks, maybe they'll show sex by then

How long until they reach the flowering cycle?

12" - 15" 1 - 3 months, it's really up to you, and the size lights (light penetration distance) you're using

Do I get some REPS for that? LOL

You better transplant them out of those cups and into a larger pot because they may get root bound. You'd be surprised how fast the roots grown down and through the soil or medium. Also be very careful about giving them miracle grow too early and when you do careful not to give too much
