New grower, need advise badly on this set up i have.

So im going to take a stab at growing, im thinking about doing nirvana bubblicious or ams Carmelicious. Ive been doing a lot of research and this forum and its community has been a HUGE! help but i still have a few answers (mostly being unsure since im a noob :D )


So i was going to build a grow box, figured buying this grow tent would be less of a hastle. http://growace.com/product_info/31x31x63-reflective-grow-tent.html, thoughts?


Wondering how many plants yall think i could grow in it, im thinking i want to do 2 at a time or would they get cramped in this space, again im a noob to growing and suck with measurements lol.
How many lights do you think i should equip this baby with? Id like to do cfls as im renting and dont want to blow my bill up and cause suspicion.
I plan on running cool air in from the bottom and a draw fan to take the hot air out from the top, im sure ill add a simple co2 set up as well.
Also, this tent would work fine with soil/pots? Not going to do hydro until i get the hang of things.


Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.
 
From the pics I've seen on this site you could put alot more in there.I'm still learning myself,but i thought I'd give you a bump
 
do 3 or 4 thats if you are even gonna use hps if cfl then one or your gonna need a whole hell of alot for 4
 
So if i do one plant i could use maybe 3 cfls but if im doing anything more then 1 plant i should just use a 400w hps? Can i use the 400w HPS for veg and flower stages?
 
i run 320 actual watts of cfl on 1 maybe 2 smaller plants you would be best off with a 400 hps more light for your money to run 3 or four decent sized plants your gonna need alot more then 400 watts of cfl so hps is your best bet
 
if your just gonna do one plant then dont wast your money on a tent just find a small closet or build a small box cfl does best with small plants
 
Well i want to start with 1 plant as my first experiment, i dont want to spend good $$ on seeds then mess them all up, if i manage to do it right i will probably grow 3-4 at a time, the tent would give me more room to work with and wouldnt be much more then the cost of building a box? Also, power wise, how much would a 400w hps add to an electric bill (ball park) something like 10 dollars more a month or?
 
yea that tent is good for 2 or 4 plants .. I guess a 250W or even better a 400W would be ok (with heat aso.)

a 400W MH/HPS cool tube would be golden and then 4 "small" plants or two bigger (3 or 6 weeks of Veg I reccon)

but nomather what you will need a ventilation for that tent .. so count in a extra 120$ for a small 4"/100mm vent and a small filter .. schould be ok for that size room ..

you wont regret useing a extra 100$ at the end if it all runns smootly .. even tho you then wont know how it is to strugle with a 600W HPS with out cool tube and temps around 82-86F

and sure go for that tent .. cheap .. unless you actualy like makeing stuff yourself .. then safe them bucks and build sumthing kool yourself .. if you have 10 tumps .. buy the tent ..
 
depending on what you rates are not much tho id say 10 just go 400 you will be happy in the end buy the time you buy all the stuff for a cfl grow you could have bought the 400 watt hps and sum
 
more like 20$ I belive .. but I reccon it depense wher your live and the cost in your contry/area
 
The tent itself has 3 inch to 5 inch vent holes i plan on bringing cool air in from the bottom and taking it out from the top, i will also have carbon filter (somewhere) to help with the smell, not sure where it would be best placed.
 
I'm growing 8 plants with 8 23w and 7 27w CFLs, 12/12 from seed tho. I've never grown this much in this setup tho, so i don't know how it will turn out.

the tent is a good size for one plant under a 400w hps

if ajjax has the right strain, top the plant and pull the sides down this plant would yeild a lot in that tent

if can get a good size fan, i would have the fan out side the tent (blow air into the filter)
 
the tent is less than 3 ft x 3ft and just over 5ft high and filter/fan will take up a lot of space needed for the plants and light
if i was to do this set up
i would have air feed light, one side open and the other with ducting on in a straight line to the 6"fan and then to the filter 6"

this would keep the tent cool and give the plants loads of light :):)

you could get the light 6" from the top of the plants and fill the hole tent with a good large canopy
and even think about a scrog with a yeild of lots of dank bud :)
