New grower need advice with seedlings

Hi everyone. This is my 2nd attempted grow the last one didnt go very well. So wat you will see in picture is two exo cheese and one money maker all normal feminized. They were sprouted in coco tabs which were impregnated with a light npk designed for seedlings supposedly.

So i started with three exo cheese seeds and three money maker in a makeshift humidity dome on a heating pad. Two seeds literally came up overnight......never heard of that before..those would be the two on the left side of the picture. The money maker is still in the same coco tab it was sprouted in a week ago the exo chese behind it was the other one that sprouted overnight but had a really shallow root and fell out so i replanted it in a peat pellet and it seems to have recovered a bit (its planted deep which is why its so much shorter than the money maker but theyre the same age)

On the far right you see the other cheese which didnt shed its seed helmet and needed me to help take it off.....i wasnt sure it would even survive but its still alive for now. The other two money maker seeds didnt launch very well...one had the stuck helmet and it rotted inside......the other mm seed sprouted a root but stopped growing and same with the other cheese..root came out but stopped growing, i miht have messed with them too much.....im a noob and way too impatient.


So basically im just watering a few drops once a day and trying to let the soil dry out. i went ahead and got some canna rhizo and mixed up a 1 to 10 ratio and have been giving that instead of straight tap water.


Any guidance is welcome im pretty much totallt retarded so feel free to lay it on me. I plan to translpant these into some plagronics soil in a couple weeks if they are still alive.

edit to post: forgot to mention they are under a 23 watt cfl 2700k which i know isnt ideal.....i have some 6500k on order.

also wanted to ask.....i planted five autos in peat pellets a day ago after cracking the seeds in water.....should i wait and see what happens or put them in coco or rockwool cubes instead? im a bit worried after what ive read about oeat being too wet......

Less is more. They don't need anything but warmth, moisture and time. Be patient.

yeah coco, rockwall, paper, hydro what ever you use

best with seeds to just water them or use very weak plant start type nutes or a rooting feed, then just wait

coco pellets should just be kept damp after you soak them they normally only need water once ever week or 2 weeks, once the seed pop`s then obviously you have to water as the plant sucks up but they can normally go a few days with no light

There`s some bennies and such you can add to your coco or rockwall to make seedlings less likely to dye of damping off, but it can happen, normally I give a seed 2 to 3 weeks to pop, I only do paper towels or pop them outside of a medium if I`m popping loads or I want to know what the germination rate is

Lets put it this way say I was starting 100 plants or more in 1l pots, the I would pop 100 to 200 seeds in paper and move them over to the pots so I know I was not wasting any time or space

but if all I had was 5 or 10 seeds and I had space for 5 or 10, 1L pots, then I`d start them in that

Auto`s are best to start in 5L to 30L pots as they don`t transfer very well

And if your growing "strain hunters" or "green house seeds" well some of their stuff is great had some good plants from their seeds and some of it could be some of your issues, I`ve had some of theres have 0% germination rates but sometimes you can get unlucky with seeds and water and such, sometimes they just don`t seem to make it, sometimes its down to the water or mould or bacteria

If a seed or plant dies in something I normally throw that thing away or wash it that normally stops the problem happening again

thanks guys....i admit im very impatient and that combined with no experience is a bad combo. So is it correct of me to leave my autoseeds in thepeat pellets and just keep them warm in the propagator thing? And for the other plants just water lightly every few days? When should i transplant into my 6 liter pots? At 2 weeks or 3? Thanks again!
