New Grow Setup

So I am going to get 20 Haze#1 seeds online this week, going to make a new setup.

I want to use a 400w HID Ballast with a HPS and MH for the veg/flowering stage. I am trying a hydro grow, so I am going to use some plastic pot filled with rockwool and use a 30/15/15 NPK nut solution. Going to have it drain into a reservoir so that I can adjust and reuse any left overs. I am thinking 2/3 waterings/day?
Am going to try and keep the PH of the water as close to 6.5 as possible.

Are there any serious flaws with what I have planned?
Cheers

The PH needs to be lower, about 5.5 for hydroponic gardening. 6.5 is ideal for a soil grow. Everything else seems ok, just change ferts for blooming when you flower.

The pots should use hydroton, not rockwool. Rockwool is a great starter for seeds and cuttings, but is not ideal by itself beyond that. Hydroton is what you want. Roots love it.

As for the number of waterings, how are you applying the water? drip rings, continuous run, ebb & flow? However, the question can only be answered like this... you need oxygenated water and the roots cannot dry out. Your reservoir needs a 4" or larger airstone. You'll have to dial in your system and keep an eye on it to determine number of waterings. I would start with three, equally spaced apart and go from there. Keep a carefull eye out for withering or dropping. If you see that, add a watering and space them out again. For instance, if doing three, that would be once for 30 minutes every 8 hours. If thats not enough, try 30 minutes once every 6 hours, and so on.

Good luck

Thanks for the info about Hydroton, will have to get a supply of it.
I am thinking of using a 5gal bucket with an air pump/stone and a water pump, maybe 15gal/hr? And have it got for 30 minutes every 8 hours as of now, Im sure it will change. And just top off the bucket with filtered water every few days and fully empty/change the nutes every 10ish days
