Hi everyone i am new here and would like to start my first grow. I was originally thinking of using a 151 liter rubber-maid bin as a grow box but i thought of another way i could get a bigger grow area for a lot less.

Here is my idea:

I have a corner in my room that i could use, its kinda "sunk in" and is about 6 1/2' high by about 8' wide and 3 1/2-4' in depth. I want to buy a few of these CLICK HERE and line the walls, ceiling and floor with it. Then use one of the blankets to cut the space so i get a 3/2'x3' vegging room and a 3 1/2x5' budding room. then i would use dryer duct and fans from home depot for an intake and exhaust. I would construct a simple frame from pvc and hang the lights directly from the ceiling. For the lights i plan to use CFLs that i can raise and lower.

Would this setup work?
Any changes?

The size of your area will judge how large you can grow. I usually try to give "each" plant about 1 sq foot around of growing area and 6-8 feet tall to fully grow, so that the plant will receive proper lighting and area for a successful harvest. My second grow I had 3 plants growing in a very confined space and when the leaves grew out they all got super bushy and blocked the light from the lower nug so I got way less than I wanted. CFL's would be great for energy efficiency and you don't put out such a large heat signal. Make sure you pick out a good nutrient line to help feed em. Good Luck, really interested to see what you come up with. Post some of your Pictures when your done..

I was mainly asking if this would work. I figured it would be a really cheap grow room but im not sure if just hanging blankets would work. Thanks for your reply though.
