New grow room set-up, need opinions on lighting

Hi there, setting up a room about 6x8x8. Been looking into lighting and I just wanted some experienced opinions on LED. What is the best LED option for a space that big? If I went HPS in a space that big how many would I need? Would probably be getting 600w if I went HPS (would use MH during veg), so how many for a space that size? Got 20 fem Master Kush seeds to start...plan on doing a continual grow (clones veg for 20 days in separate space then move to flowering room). Any advice, opinions, anecdotes etc etc would be appreciated!

Consider what you'll design for walkways. You could light up most of that with a 1000w, or all of it using a light mover. You could use two 600w's for about 3x4 areas each, or 3x3 with walkways. You could go for the minimum and use two 400w at or less than 3x3 each. A stationary 400w should light up more than 2.5x2.5 for maximum crystal but with a 2-lamp light mover, two 400w's would do well in 3x3 areas. Search for threads about your strain, find out what sizes it grows to and figure out how many you're going to fit at the end of flowering. Once you have a pattern of containers, you'll have a better idea what bulb(s) to use.

All HID lamps should have a cooling air circulation system that is separate from the grow area's air and a grow room with any other type of light can at least benefit from this. The second of the two big grow room building costs is air circulation. You need it to cool the lights, provide fresh air to the plants and encourage thicker stems. You don't seem to mention it. Centrifugal fans like those from CanFan & Fantech air usually the best way to go.

I didn't mention anything but lighting, how much space I have, and what strain I've got. I'm leaning towards LED lighting because of the heat issue as well as how nice they are for vegging. I've seen a LOT of threads with good examples of why to HID lighting, and I've also seen quite a few threads supporting LED for use from seedling to flowering (ledbudguy for example has some amazing grows using LED); so my question is for someone who's new to growing but wants to jump in to growing en masse quick is LED easier to handle? I'm just not sure I can setup a satisfactory HPS set-up for my plants (budgetary reasons) so what would it cost to light up a room my size? If all you have to offer is what you're using for your room and how much it cost then that's great, I just need an idea.

Also for anyone using LED, what's some of the better systems out there? Just looking for what people use and can give a good review on. Not asking you to do my leg work on the many grow sites haha

We haven't tried LED's ourselves, sorry. Hopefully the HID info will be helpful for comparing the LED info you get to. But yes, LED's & fluorescents do amount to less cost and effort.
