UPDATE......aight to make a long story short, I started off with six plants growing. I ended up with two females that are flowering nicely. They have put on quite a bit of height, im worried I may be in some trouble with the space. I think I had some nute burn from the first water in bloom. I tested the ph it was around 7.4 now its down to 5.8. I am on 800ppm and I am about to change the water now and bump up to 1000ppm. This is my 3rd week of flowering, I change the water once a week. My plants always look sort of droopy though, Does anyone know how much water to have in the res for flowering plants? My roots are a nice size but I usually have them floating in about 2gal of water...Help? I want to take clones, which part of the plant do I cut off for clones? any advice on LST technigue or bending. Here are some pics keep the info coming, I check this site at least once a day...if your stoned and you look at some of the pics they are pretty cool.

UPDATE....my first grow sucks. The other day I was trying to change water and some how I managed to chop off one of my top colas. So I hurried up and dipped in some dip n grow to see if I can put it back in veg and help it grow roots and then put it back in bloom. I dunno, My plants started to out grow my grow space so I took some yarn and tied the branches down a few of them I heard snap crackle and pop. I am not sure if those branches are dead or what, anyone with ideas? I think I either vegged too long or this strain grows long and tall. Growth hasnt been steady the bud sites started to form there are white hairs just doesnt look like buds are growing and filling out, I lost count of my veg weeks I think i am on week 7 and there isnt much bud, doesnt anyone have pictures of Bloom weeks and what the plants should look like? HELP....

Bend gently. Favor a long curve made by attaching string/wire in two places over a more acute single angle. You don't get there all at once. Come back in a couple days and tighten/bend more until you get where you want to be.

Snapping and popping so long as the plant doesn't tear or rupture isn't always bad. Some people have techniques to increase stem strength and bud yield that involve 'breaking.' In general, I avoid it but it will still happen once and a while especially in a tight space.

Don't be too hard on yourself. It takes a while to get your bearings with this stuff, and the kinds of problems you're having aren't all bad (i.e. coping with overgrowth rather than nursing sick plants.)

i would add another fan exhausting the rooms heat. I have one of the 4" in can fans and they suck. Another thing is thats alot of bends in your ducting. Play around with it, ie. take the filter off see if that helps suck the hot air out better.

DON'T PANIC - breaking stems is OK - but try not to break them into pieces. In fact, some growers break their stems on purpose because after the plant heals the water (and nutrient) intake increases to the damaged parts (it is one of the supercropping advanced techniques). If you are growing a sativa, you could still have another month of flowering - again don't panic - the plant will grow at its own rate regardless when everyone says it should be done flowering. Dry the bud that broke off though - that's about all you can really do with it - dry it and try it!

The buds can look pretty small and ragged until they start filling in. Plus this is your first grow, right? it WILL get easier and better. If everything went perfect the first time you wouldn't have learned anything. Just hang in there and try to remember it is supposed to be fun and relaxing not stressful!

Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it. For a bunch of potheads, I have encountered some of the most articulate, professional, theraputic, and scientific people I have ever met in my life on here. Smoke and get HIGH!! I think the next president of the USA should be smokin a joint right now...lol

It's the fan, I tried the same one your using if I can tell? The 6" in line 250CFM? I tried to use two of those fans for a similar setup but they just didn't have the power I needed. I tried them in every combination but I never got the temps right until I bought a vortex fan. You need one that is designed to keep the air pressure up. Its kind of like a fan with a lot of torque. The CFM ratings are misleading when you factor boost pressure. I'm still learning and I'm not an expert. So take my advice with your own judgement. I would say whatever you think will solve your problem as far as fans. Double the CFM capacity of it or get two and you should have some room to breathe. ;-)
