as for yield, i've never seen anyone do a side by side comparison but the logic is that mh gives off much less of the wavelength of light needed for flowering compared to hps. that means that a lot of the extra light in a 1000 is wasted.

you might want to think about a 600 watt hps instead. you're kind of in overkill range with a 1000 watt light in that box.
