New Grow, 19 days old

Hi Everyone,

Well this is my first time growing cannabis but I think its going pretty well. I have no previous experience growing any type of plants but I'm understanding the process for the most part.

Supplies:

400W HPS Light w/ Reflector
4 75-watt soft white fluorescent
Black Gold Organic Potting Soil
FF Grow Big Fertilizer

Environment:

Humidity: Average is 40-50%
Temperature: 73F - 85F
Growing in a closet, using ducts and fans to exhaust and get fresh air in

Day 1:
After germinating, the seeds were placed in half-gallon starter pots. They started growing under 4 75-watt soft white fluourescent lights.

Day 8:
The plants were transplanted to 3-gallon pots. I think that I prematurely transplanted the plants, but oh well.

The biggest issue that I've been having is with watering. Because this is my first time, I'm struggling with figuring out how much to water(volume), and how often. Currently I'm watering them every 3-4 days. I usually just check to see how dry the soil is. The other thing is fertilizer. I've been mixing about 3/4 of what the label on the Grow Big calls for(1tsp/gallon).

My Questions:

When should I use foilar feeding as opposed to just using the fertilizer with the regular waterings?

You can see a root on the biggest plant in the holes on the bottom of the 3-gallon pot, does this matter?

The plant seems to look very droopy. I've read that over-watering or underwatering can cause this. I don't *think* that I've been overwatering(every 3 days roughly), could it be underwatering, or is it lacking nutrients(Do I need to use more food in the water?).

In the picture of the HPS light and the plants, the one that the close-up pictures are of is the back left plant.

So I guess in conclusion, any comments/suggestions on how I am growing, the health of my plants, what I'm using, etc,. would be appreciated.

Thanks guys!

You shouldn't need to be feeding a plant that size, in that container twice a week.

When you feed, saturate the medium. Give it around 3-4litres of feed, then sit back for a week.

Gotta say the same, looks like they're drowning. Easy on the watering, they really don't need as much as you'd think they do.

It seems like overwatering is the issue because I've held off on watering as much and the leaves are looking much stronger, less droopy, and overall good health. Thanks guys!

Yes... but the next time you feed, saturate the pot. Then leave it for a week till the medium dries out.

YES saturate the SHIT outtat the soil...

then hold off.. and DONT feed every time...

The leaves should not look DROOPY.... t is clearly either over or under watering.. It looks ike over watering but the soil is dry.. so i am slighty CONFUSED :)

They LOOK pretty darn good for a first grow.. and the strain looks nice...

keep the pictures coming

:)

i water mine a lil bit, twice a day. i havent heard of watering just once a week, and saturating the medium seems a bit much?

Well over-watering seems to have been the culprit. Day 25 and the plants are looking amazing now! Only thing I noticed was the leaves are much more of a light green, but I think that is just because it needs to be fed. So next water I'll give it some Grow Big. Thanks for everyone's help here!

In the picture the leftmost one was the one that I was over-watering.
