New Fan

So today I went and picked up an oscillating fan from canadian tire. As i come up into my room i can smell a faint smell of fresh paint sure enough the smell is coming from the cage on the fan. could this be harmful to my plants? I dont want to open a window because its cold out and i dont want my closet to get too cold.

btw my plants are only a week and a half old

probably a dumb question but just making sure its alright to ave my fan almost directly facing my light (400w hps)
