New Clones, Slightly yellow Tips, a little curling (up), any help is appreciated

So I have tried to do as much research on this site before asking ANOTHER question about yellow tips and curling, but here we go anyway.

I have owned six clones in a hydroponic setup for about 5 days now. I am using nutrient mix that I bought online and have started the second cycle on it. I am using a 3 gallon water supply and am lighting the clones with 3 T4 floros. they are 42 watt with a 150 watt equivalence.

I am experiencing some yellow color that seems to be stemming solely from the tips of the leaves. There is also some curling up on many of the leaves. It does not look devastating YET but I want to stop it immediately. I read a bunch and it seems like the main problem may be too many nutrients, so I have already diluted the solution with another gallon of distilled water.

I will try and post some pictures when I can, does anyone have any advice? Is my lighting ok? Will I have to switch it eventually? Also, I was wondering about a CO2 pump, are these really necessary/helpful?

Thanks for all the help,

David

Wow Alot of views but no help huh? Its hard without pics....
I dont think you have anything to worry about. It sounds like normal clone behavior to me. Yellow tips and curling up. yellow tips because it does not yet have enough roots to use to take up Nitrogen (mobile element) so it has "borrowed" some from the leaf tips. Same with the curling up of the leaves. Curling up is usually a result of heat and/or dryness. Again because it doesn't yet have enough roots to adequately hydrate itself it is trying to conserve fluids. Just be patient. I think its going to be fine. :)
