New bud growing at tip of old bud sight?

I am about a week before harvest and I'm noticing a few central buds are starting to develop new growth at the tip of the bud up to 3/4 of an inch in length. While the bud itself is plump, the new growth is skinny and obviously useless.

This is a bit of concern because the plant is allocating energy to developing new plant growth opposed to producing thicker bud and THC development. I'm wondering what could cause something like this to happen and what would be the best approach to counter it.

Note: Only 1 to 1 and a half of the four plants are doing this.

Thanks

You may have a light leak thats making those go back into a veg. Look around and make sure its 100% dark when your lights are off.

its called foxtailing and most sativas do this. some think it maybe caused by light being to close, or could be that its just trying to get pollinated, but either way it doesnt harm anything and i wouldn't stress over it. just harvest as you would

I concure with the foxtailing. It's your buds bulking up for you. For me , it is also a sign that my harvest is almost done. It all fills the pipe. Nothing wrong with fat buds getting fatter.

Foxtail's have always interested me , ever since I first seen them.

First time I seen it was a mates kali mist in hyrdo, only time I ever seam to see it is in hydro.

The guy had the same kali mist in the same room , in soil and they didn't do it.

I've grew many strains many times in soil and never had it , now in my first dwc grow , my bud's are covered in them.

Been looking about and people seam very unsure of why they happen , some say genetics , some say environment.

Personally tho having only seen them in hydro system's , im a bit inclined to believe there is a connection of some sort's.
