Well i'm new to the whole hydro grow thing so I have some questions. I'm looking to start my own system within the next month or so, any body have any suggestions on good beginner hydroponics sytems that will give me expert growing yields. I'm looking to put it in a closet thats 4' by 4' and about 6' tall. I have been researching the aerogarden but feel that it won't give me what i'm looking for. I also have been looking at the waterfarm system, but don't really know what to think about it, I'm only looking to grow 1 - 2 plants at a time. Any thoughts on any systems that will be most effective for my purpose? Also any thoughts for lighting and nutrients, i'd like to keep it inexpensive as possible but effective. I would prefer to use fluorescents just for the sheer energy savings with fluorescents. So any thoughts, ideas, would be appreciated.

Thanks

For beginners I would recommend DWC. It's easy, it's cheap. You could easily do 9 DWC buckets in a 4x4 area. Whatever you pick, good luck.

i use the aerogarden for real small stuff, like clones or experimental crops.

Stealth Hydro makes some simple kits that some people ive come across here use. DWC also is really good for beginners, and Plasma is right on the money about space and stuff.

flourescents will get you by, one you have a handle on things you defniitely want to get MH and/or HPS in there for veg and flower.

nutes- you dont want to skimp on nutes, low quality fertilizers are suspect at best.
something like FoxFarm or General Hydroponics will be great.

FoxFarm has a hydro nute trio that come all together. i think its around 70-80 bucks.

The best way to save some $$ starting out is to buy everything at one time, or check out local shops so you dont have to pay shipping. I had a hydroponics store less than 2 miles from me and i didnt even know it til i started growing.

Read VictorVicious grow journal and other postings. Read and watch everything seemorebuds produced.

If you like the waterfarm, you could just pick up 2 of them. They sell them separately, with everything you need including growrocks and nutrients, for $50.
